Design hotel in Stockholm
Review of Rex Hotel, Stockholm by
nispero
Advantages: Design hotel, good breakfast, nice area
Disadvantages: Not in the very center of the city
I have been in the "Rex Hotel" for a long weekend in April 2008. The area
The hotel is situated in a quiet street 10-15 minutes walking from the center. In this area there are a lot of supermarkets (including one Lidl), restaurants (Italians, Chineses) and a lot of take aways. There is also a 7eleven that closes around 11.00 pm.
The hotel
When you enter at the hotel you can see the reception, a sofa and a internet desk (free to use). ... ...nice. Not huge but with space enough to have a table, a chest of drawers and a sofa. The bathroom is quite impressive with black stone in a very design style.
In the room there are available two bottles of sparkling water and a detailed dossier of the attractions of the area with a lot of useful information. You can access free of charge to internet if you have a laptop.
The hotel can provide you a map of the city and there are also other leaflets ...

One of the best hostels in Europe!
Review of City BackPackers Hostel, Stockholm by
amber07
Advantages: central, loads of freebies, friendly
Disadvantages: none
City Backpackers is rated as one of the best hostels in Europe and I fully agree! I arrived on the ferry and walked the 2 miles from the dock, so by the time I arrived, I was exhausted. Luckily for me, the hostel was the perfect environment to just 'flop'. Downstairs, there were two common rooms, one with a huge TV, a million channels, plenty of dining tables and the comfiest sofas, and the second with free hot drinks, more tables and about 8 computers ... ...was a small shared kitchen, a laundry room with room for stored baggage (accessible to any guest, but lockers could also be hired) as well as the usual books, tourist info, maps etc. In the kitchen there was a huge tub of free pasta - a brilliant idea and not one I have seen elsewhere! The décor was all very attractive and it was thoroughly cleaned. The staff on reception were very friendly and storing luggage before or after check in/out was no ...

Smart, stylish, perfectly delicious stay!
Review of Clarion Hotel, Stockholm by
abbichicken
Advantages: great views, excellent breakfast, clean friendly top class hotel, great location
Disadvantages: Can be a little busy, if that's really that bad!
The Clarion Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden is one of the largest in the city. Situated on Södermalm (the South Island) it's in a busy, trendy location just around the corner from all manner of bars and restaurants, and is literally across the road from Skanstull tube station which will take you to the central station and the city centre in around fifteen minutes. It's very easy to find, signposted from the station, and illuminated from the outside by ... ...four star hotel, and prices are according. Prices vary considerably depending on the season and the days (nights) you wish to stay, so it's worth checking different dates if you can be flexible - you can pick up quite a bargain! Of the price ranges through the week we stayed there we averaged 1000 - 1500 SEK a night (approx. £70 - £110) and we opted for a "Superior Room" which is a little more expensive.
Superior rooms tend to be located on the ...

The Red Boat in Stockholm
Review of Den Roda Baten (Red Boat), Stockholm by
dance
Advantages: Convenient location - between Sodermalm and Gamla Stan
Disadvantages: There are two boats - you might not stay on red boat
I stayed here for 3 nights in early April. I booked this hotel because it is highly recommended by another review website and I got attracted to the pictures on the red boat's website. I booked directly with the hotel and the rate was 230SEK per night per person. This is about £18 per person. I was on a budget and Stockholm is an expensive city, so I booked a triple-bed cabin without shower and washbasin.
How to get there: We landed at Stockholm ... ...station in stockholm. The airport express costs 200SEK (adult) and 100SEK for students with ISIC card. It took us 20 minutes to get to the central station .Then, we took the metro to go to Gamla Stan station which is only one stop away. Exit the station on the right and then turn left to cross the bridge. It's less than 5 minutes to get to the hotel. If you go to the www.theredboat.com, you can see the map and clearer directions. The boat booked ...

A night on a boat...
Review of Rygerfjord Hotel and Hostel, Stockholm by

Advantages: Good value for money, great location, very friendly staff
Disadvantages: Tiny cabins, can be a bit noisy
...making the decisions". Instead, the Rygerfjord solved all our problems. Location and access
**********************************************************************
This is one of the best things about the hotel. The boat is located on Soder Malastrand, close to everything. It is a 15-minute walk from the old town (Gamla Stan), and the nearest underground stations are Gamla Stan (10-minute walk), Slussen (10 minute-walk) and Mariatorget (between ... ...**************************************************
In fact, the Rygerfjord serves both as a hotel and a hostel. It is actually two boats, that contain 70 cabins and 200 beds.
* For the hostel, you can choose between:
-a 2-bed cabin = 500 :- (about £36), which is the price per cabin and per night.
-a 4-bed cabin = 195 :- (about £14), which is the price per bed and per night.
or
-a 12-bed cabin = 185 :- (about £13), price per bad and per night.
