I lived in Stockholm for about 18 months. I'd say possibly the best 18 months of my life.
I was a little worried about moving abroad as a 21 year oid. Not only having to take care of myself for the first time but having to survive all that in a foreign country. I was pleasently surprised at how friendly everyone was, and the support they gave me.
People love to practice their English with you, at first it's great everywhere you go people will speak in English for you, but as i was living there i wanted to learn the language, which got hard when everyone speaks english too you.
The place was extremely clean. It's so nice to walk around a city, exp3ecially a capital and not see rubbish everywhere. Being from England this is especially true.
Living in stockholm you get the best of both worlds. You have the vibrant city life but also within 5-10 mins you can be out in open countryside, or on a small Island where the hussle bussle of the city seems 1 million miles away. If you go i reccomened gettibg out into the archipeligo, beautifully stunning.
All of stockhom and it's surrounding area can be accessed by an excellent public transport system. The busses and tunnelbahn (underground) run like clockwork and your never waiting long for the next bus/train. Both are clean and safe. I reccomend buying the tickets in strips, it works out more cheaper. Also if your there for a few days you might think about getting a weekend pass, which can be purchased form the little newsagents at the stations or from some of the supermarkets.
I partied hard while i was in stockholm, and was up at all hours of the day. Only once did i ever see any trouble. A what looked like a scuffle over drugs at the entrance to the main station. It was quikly quashed by the police. Even strolling around at 4-5am i never felt threatend. Makes such a change.
There are lots of bars and pubs in stockholm, but unfortunatley a lack of great clubs. Most play cheesy music, but i guess thats down to taste. Most of the bars are open late and they all have great atmospheres. I would highly reccomend Wistroms in Gamla Stan. It;s an irish bar which is small but has great atmosphere. Also going up to the top of the hill in Sodermalm to the bar/club at the top. Sitting in the Garden looking accross stockholm is a great way to end the day and start the night. Very trendy.
It's very expensive in Stockholm. Alkyhol is the most expensive i've seen, you can't really have a cheap night out. I'd reccomend getting down the bottle shop and having a few drinks at hgome first before going out.
Lots of excellent restraunts in stockholm. The little indian place in Gamla Stan near the station is not to be missed. Also check out the Checosolvakian Bar in Soder, excellent schnitzels.
I love stockholm, i'd fully reccomend it to anyone. Just make sure you have some dollar if you intend to go out partying.

Advantages: great views, excellent breakfast, clean friendly top class hotel, great location Disadvantages: Can be a little busy, if that's really that bad!
