I stayed at the Stonecross Manor Hotel with my friend and had a brilliant time.
It is a superbly modernised leisure hotel in Kendal, right in the heart of the southern and central Lake District
I'm really shocked at some of the negative feedback I've seen from people who have stayed at this hotel as I really enjoyed my stay. I'd read reviews slating the hotel before I booked it but after going to hotels in the past which I've really liked but heard negative feedback from them I knew not to take into account everyones views as we all have different expectations, and some of us are more fussier then others haha!
First of all I'd like to mention how wonderful and welcoming the staff, they really made me and my friend Vicky feel right at home from the minute we entered the hotel!
The food in the Stonecross Manor Hotel is excellent, The breakfast is a buffet style with a selection of cold and hot food . The food avaliable were things like :Cereal, juice, fresh fruits, yoghurts, croissants, sausage, bacon, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, fried bread, black pudding, toast with marmalade and jam, fresh coffee or tea!
The bar and restaurant offers a wide selection of alcohol such as champagne and wines and suprinsgly they were all at a reasonable price! .
The bedroom and bathroom were extremely clean, I had a very comfortable bed and the wadrobes were very spacious which is usually a problem when I'm staying in a hotel as the wadrobes tend to be too small so I end up keeping a lot of clothes in my suitcase!
The hotel also has a very nice swimming pool and spa with small changing areas, You can get towels from the reception area to use for the swimming pool and spa if needed.Stonecross Manor is situated on the edge of Kendal, one of the Lake District's most important market towns and is an ideal base from which to explore some of Britain's most beautiful countryside. Lake Windermere can be reached in twenty minutes by car as well as by train.
So overall I really enjoyed my stay in the Stonecross Manor the staff were very polite and approachable, the grounds were well maintained, and plenty of parking spaces, The hotel was very quiet and relaxing. It was close to the town . The food was lovely and they were very accommodating to our needs.
