I spent a night at strawberry moons for a friends birthday a couple of months ago and I must say I was dissapointed with the place. We had been to a few places before and were on the guestlist - upon arrival at the club we had to wait a few minutes because it was very busy but were eventually let through by the door staff. Entry was £10.00 and £2.00 per item in the cloakroom (typical london prices).
I had only been inside the club a few minutes when I realised it wasn't going to be the best evening. The place was absolutely heaving with people, it was a bit of a joke really. People were struggling to get by one another and the queue for the bar was enormous. There were two main areas to the left and right and the bar ran the length of them, but there were simply too many people for the bar staff to serve. The fact that we had planned to stay there for the rest of the evening and every one was now inside meant we just had to face the queue at the bar. I did take a long time, so when I did finally reach the front we bought two bottles of white wine, costing about £16.00. That was the easy part - the hard bit was returning from the bar with the bottles and glasses and making my way past all of the people in the queue. After a few spillages and sorry's I made it back. We had the first bottle and then made our way to the dancefloor which was even more packed than the rest of the club. I can't stand it when dancefloors are too busy because you are constantly bumping into people and people are bumping into you. The music was very cheesy, but after the wine and the drinks I had already had, I didn't mind too much.
We did end up leaving a bit early because the place was simply too busy. It did however have a good atmosphere and the other people in the club seemed like nice people. The dancefloor was simply too small and the size of the bar for the number of people in the club was ridiculous. I would recommend strawberry moons to people who like cheesy music, but you must be prepared for it to be really busy and had a few drinks before you get in because of the bar siruation.
