Partying in Stuttgart is not that easy. First because its the city of the Snobs ;- ) and secondly because its really expansive.

But some students found a nice solution for this problem. Every Wednesday night is a party on the top of the "Max-Kade-Haus" (hall of residence) in the city centre. Its located in the Holzgarten-Strasse nearby the City train station "Berliner Platz / Liederhalle".

It's a little 15 floors building and on the first floor there is a kind of "check in". Normally the party is only for students living in the house but if you are good in arguing you may find in. Please be aware that you need some kind of passport or id-card (restriction of the local authorities).

Once you made it through the check (we never were on the guest-list and made it every time to get in) you take the lift to the top floor.

Entry is 1 Euro (that's cheap!!!!) and the prices for beer and drinks are cheap as well.

The location has to main parts, first the bar and dance floor with some seats and a nice decoration. The better part is the roof-terrace ("Dachterasse") (in winter it may not be as good as in summer :) where you have a beautiful view over the city centre of Stuttgart Have a look for the stars in the sky and the (Mercedes)stars on the buildings.

It's really nice to stand here outside, look over the city and talk to friends or kiss a nice girl while the music is playing in the background.

Maybe that’s all what is to say about this nice event, but that’s the most important thing ... you can have a real good time.

P.S.: Ending the party by running down the stairs from the 15th to the first floor is funny, but please check your ability to do it without falling in relationship to the level of alcohol you consumed. :)

P.P.S.: Public transport in Stuttgart is something that means "no service" or "as poor as possible". The last trains and busses are going half past 12 in the night and they start again after 4 or 5 in the morning. There are no night busses. But the nice taxi drivers look forward to get you money. :)

Sorry for the low rating, but this op stands under the headline 'Stuttgart' and doesn't say anything about the city. I lived there for a while and although I hated it, I know there's a lot more to say about that city.
