...~~~HAMBURG MARRIOTT HOTEL~~~ As well as having stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Hamburg several times, I have also stayed at the Renaissance sister hotel, the Marriott, located on ABC Strasse in the exclusive shopping and dining part of the city of Hamburg. The hotel is well located and transfer time from the airport (Hamburg) is under 20 minutes or so with taxi fares also being under 20Euros (£13-£15). Just outside o f the hotel you will find a glittering array of upmarket shops and small boutiques and the hotel is located in a very quiet area and all of the rooms are exceptionally quiet. Arriving at the hotel: As you enter the hotel, the lobby is sumptuous and well-kept, and there are always plenty of bellhops to help with your bags. ...After the destruction of the dome that housed many of the facilities in the fire of 2002 Center Parcs Elvedon has risen from the ashes, but is it bigger and better? Firstly for those of you who are unaware of what Center Parcs is. Center Parcs are large family holiday villages set in forests. There are four sites in GB Elvedon Sherwood Forest Longleat and Oasis in the Lake District. There are also villages in France Holland and Belgium. Elvedon is the village that we return to again and again having visited twice a year for the last eight years. Elvedon village is set in 400 acres of Thetford forest near Brandon in Suffolk. Advantages: Great transport, young, livley city.
Disadvantages: Loads to do, but no landmarks, nothing which Hamburg is known for

...This was my first (of many) budget trip to the continent, and I was going with some friends to stay at my mates grandma. We flew cheap with Ryanair from Stanstead to Lubeck, which is about an hour from Hamburg City Center. Like most Ryanair flights, do not take the ryanair bus from the airport to the city, take the train. You can save yourself about 50€ by doing this. There is a regular bus from the airport to Lubeck Station, where there are frequent trains to Hamburg Hauptbahnhof. Getting round Hamburg is incredibly easy on th U-bahn and S-Bahn. The trains are comfortable, quick and conveniant running very frequently and serving the central part of the city thouroghly. A great way to see much of the largley flat city is by bike.
