...I might be not very objective to this subject, because I lived for most of my life near cologne and worked in this city, but I still like to tell you about it.
If you plan a trip to Cologne, go for it! It's perfect for a short trip over the weekend because you can cheap flights with Easyjet or Hapagh Lloyd from East Midlands, Manchester, Coventry (from £30) and I'm sure there are good connections from London as well.
The best place to stay is in a hotel near the main train station. It might be a bit loud at night, but if you want to go out in the evening you want to be in the centre and not 15 km outside. During the last six years we have driven through Cologne over twenty times on our way to or from Poland, but have never stopped to actually see this magnificent city.
We spent several nights on the 'net looking for a suitable hotel, quickly coming to two conclusions: 1) that Cologne is a far from cheap place to stay, and that 2) the actual choice of accommodation in the city is not all that great, especially if, like us, you want to stay in the city...

I decided to write this review today, after helping a friend of mine choose what type of router to go for. Having had only two routers in my lifetime, I'm not the biggest technicality whiz, but I know enough stuff to get me going.
After my first... more
