Suite Hotel Eden Mar, Funchal

I first stayed at the Eden Mar hotel in Madeira in 2007, and liked it so much I went back again for another week in 2008!

It is one of a group of hotels owned by the Porto Mare group, and is actually joint on to the Porto Mare hotel and The Reisidence, so you are also able to make use of their failities too.

One of the best points of the Eden Mar is that the accommodation is in suites rather than just rooms, with a small kitchenette with fridge, hob etc behind a folding door. This suited us perfectly as we dont like to eat out every night, and also meant we could keep drinks, milk for tea etc cold in our room.

One of the best points of the Eden Mar is that the accommodation is in suites rather than just rooms, with a small kitchenette with fridge, hob etc behind a folding door. This suited us perfectly as we dont like to eat out every night, and also meant we could keep drinks, milk for tea etc cold in our room.

There are a few different indoor and outdoor pools between the hotels, catering for everybody. We particularly liked the pool which ajoined the spa, as the inside part of it was dimly lit with soothing musc and wicker loungers around it, and connected to an outside part with waterfall and jacuzzi which had no loungers around it so you didnt feel like there were a hundred eyes on you!

We paid for bed and breakfast, which I would recommend doing as the choice of food is mouth-watering! You can have fresh fruit, yoghurt, toast, cereal, pastries and bread rolls or a cooked english breakfast. Or a combination of all of these! It is a self-service buffet, so you can help yourself to as much as you like!

It is a brilliant hotel in a good location, and I cant recommend it enough!
