Gran Canaria is situated in the canarie islands which are fairly close to the North west side of Africa. Gran Canaria is the largest of the canarie islands and one which I have visited now 7 times (all to this one hotel).
The hotel is situated on the south of the volcanic island and is 4 km from Puerto de Mogan (a nice quiet place to shop in), 50 minutes drive from The International airport and 49 km from the capital Las Palmas.
The hotel has many great features. It is set back in to the cliff behind it and surrounded by the sea. This gives some fantasic views which are best seen from the beautiful hotel gardens from where you can see the port of Mogan across the sea.
On arriving at the hotel you enter into a large reception area which is made completely of white marble. All of the reception staff are very helpful and one ...
Advantages: We actually felt like royalty Disadvantages: Absolutly none.
and pointed us in the right direction.
Whist finding our way to our room, one couldn?t help notice the elegance of the hotel, chic glass fronted elevators and palm trees stretching far up into the open space, and that was just the start of the hotel.
The Hotels rooms were excellent, clean, elegant, and nicely furnished with a gorgeous en-suit bathroom with a balcony. A perfect hotel room if you ask me, we felt like royalty.
Having settled in, we went down in the posh glass lifts to get a drink at the hotel bar, which was sophisticated in every way, it had its own grand piano along with player and an expert in cocktails at hand at the bar. But don?t worry, you don?t need to wear a tuxedo at all times, simple casual wear is generally excepted at this particular bar in the hotel.
Moving on to the pool area, when we went outside for the first ...
Advantages: Spacious Suites with two bathrooms, two balconies and good views Disadvantages: Location perhaps to quiet for some, poor air conditioning & not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties
you make it yourself but I wouldn't go back to The Mogan Princess. In my opinion, there are other hotels far superior and better located. However, if you get a good deal, and you don't mind it being so quiet, high up and youre not fussed about having a cool room with a comfy bed to sleep in at night, then give it a go, just don't pay over the odds you will be dissapointed, especially if you're used to 4 and 5 star accomodation.
The Mogan Princess is a good 3 star but poor 4 star accomodation, but forwarned is forearmed. Its not that it was bad, it just wasn't all that special. Everyone has their own tastes and expectations. Princess hotels are generally of a high standard so I expected this to be better than it was.
The Taurito Princess and The SuitePrincess are also in Taurito and are in a different class. Theres also a lovely 5 star in ...
