When you get to Sukhothai, there should be only one question on your mind. Do you have enough time to visit the ruins today? If so, go there immediately. If not, get a good night's rest for a change and get out to the ruins early. The ruins are the only thing to see around here, and they are definitely worth seeing.
The Sukhothai Historical Park comprises of 21 historical ruins and four beautiful ponds. There are another 70 or so ruins within 5 km of the walls. Rent bikes before you go in, but make sure they are roadworthy. Lots of tuk-tuk drivers will drop you off at a bike shop he has some sort of deal with, and you may end up with lousy bikes. Take your time and ride around the entire park...each ruin is different and cool in its own way.
