Advantages: Too many to mention! Disadvantages: Airport is slightly small!
...I have visited Kefalonia 6 times over the years and would love to visit every year if possible.
When you arrive at the airport and first step off the plane, and feel the heat, and see the sea and sunshine - its a good feeling. For me it is like arriving home. Theres something about Kefalonia that makes me feel at ease and relaxed.
I have always stayed in the resort of Skala as its quiet, and is near the beach.
There are not too many nightclubs and all the restaurants serve greek food and also typical English food! I think that is a major plus for me that there is not too many nightclubs etc on this island as it retains its charm and keeps away the crowds!
I have stayed at several different places within Skala - Makis Hotel, which was newly opned when we stayed there. It was lovely being so close to the beach and the road wasnt...

Advantages: Friendly, peaceful, scenic, excellent value Disadvantages: Might be a bit too quiet for teenagers etc.
...I've been to Kefalonia three times, most recently in 1999, and have booked again for 2001. My partner Jayne and I have been to various other Greek islands, but Kefalonia is our favourite and the one we keep going back to. We stay in a resort called Lourdas, on the south-west of the island, and I recommend this for anyone wanting a peaceful, tranquil beach holiday. Unlike many other parts of Greece Lourdas has not been spoiled by over-development, and the people are friendly and welcoming. There are some wonderful tavernas where you can watch the sun go down over a glass of retsina, and Adonis's bar, where you can enjoy a cocktail before your meal or an ice cream afterwards. And if the taverna of choice is a little way from your hotel or apartment, most of the taverna owners will give you a lift back at the end of the evening. That's what...

Advantages: Quiet, Unspoiled, Cheap Disadvantages: Mosquitos prevalent, Crazy local drivers!
...1 week for two, self-catering, Kefalonia.
This was a fabulous holiday. Kefalonia is relatively new to the tourist scene and as such is more or less unspoilt (visit while you can). We wanted basic accommodation for a reasonable price which we definitely found with the Marietta Apartments - the staff were friendly, the rooms clean and the facilities perfectly adequate for self-catering. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a base from which to explore, but if you are a stay-in-the-hotel-by-the-pool-all-day type, look for something a little more livelily.
Skala itself is beautiful with plenty of traditional and touristy restaurants so it depends what you are looking for. The sea around the island is crystal clear and good for swimming - check out Mirtos (or Turtle) Beach which has to be seen from the cliff top...

My impressions of this game when I saw it advertised on the internet was that it looked like a completely different type of game that I'm used to seeing for the DS.
