The Summit is some way out of the centre of Rome, but is a great place to relax after a long day traipsing around the many places of interest.
The large pool is a fine place to cool off, as I found out very quickly. My daughter and I spent many hours during the week just splashing around!!

The hotel is situated 4 miles outside the city centre, but there are plenty of options for getting into town. A regular shuttle bus from the hotel ferries you to the nearest Metro station and there are frequent buses a short walk from the hotel. Advantages: continental breakfast; outdoors swimming pool Disadvantages: THE ENTIRE HOTEL BADLY NEEDS RESTORATION, REFURBISHING & SANITATION!
I stayed at Summit from 14th to 16th May 2008. Location is TRAGIC. It is not in Rome, franklly speaking, it is hardly in Rome. Rather in some village. The food is good but standard (the sausage, omelette, boiled eggs, cheese, ham, juice, coffee, pastries). The reception demands 100 EUR from you as the deposit in case you'd drink all contents of the minibar. In the room itself there is only a shower ...

Advantages: friendly staff, good restaurant Disadvantages: old mossy rooms and lobby, no gym, bad connection with the city
This hotel should be downgraded to a 2 star. The hotel rooms are old-looking, the hotel lobby looks like last time refurnished in seventees. No gym, swimming pool only in the summer. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful but that´s the only thing I liked about this place.. The hotel has a very very bad connection with the city - there are only 4 shuttles a day to get to the city. The train stop is 400metres away and trains go about every hour ...

Amazing position. Its only a few meters away from piazza di Spagna - perhaps Italy's most famous piazza. Girls will love visiting the numerous boutiques of via Condotti. Its strategic position makes it the perfect accommodation if in Rome for the first... more
