We paid just over £700 for both of us, for two weeks in August with taxi transfers and a three star hotel on the sea front which we thought was extremely good value for money. We arrived at Bourgas airport got through customs without any problems and our taxi driver was waiting to take us on to Sunny Beach which took about 20 - 25 minutes.
When we arrived at our hotel it was about midnight so we dumped our stuff in the quite basic hotel room and went out to explore the many bars and resturaunts. We were very pleasantly surprised at what we found. The main promenade is about 25 foot wide and runs the full length of Sunny Beach nearly and this lined with bars, resturaunts, Hotels, Clubs and shops. It is also extremely busy with people on foot, bikes, golf buggies!! but you feel perfectly safe as you make your way along deciding where to try first. One problem on the main prom is that you do get hassled a bit to go in to the bars and resuraunts by the pa's outside, but like anywhere like this you get used to it by the third day and they do take no for an answer.
We tried out a lot of bars and resturaunts while we were in Sunny Beach and on the whole found them to be very good, the food is very nice and you can't complain at the prices - lager about 90p a pint in the main areas but by going off down side streets about 100 feet you can pay 35p a pint. A decent meal for two with wine is about a tenner! Cocktails tend to be two for one all night and you pay between £1 and £2.50 for two. Also other things are cheap like bungie rockets about a fiver a go, jet ski's £12 fo 20 minutes and lots of mini golf if you fancy it for about £2 a round.
The shopping is quite good also they have all the leather goods, belts, wallets and handbags, like you expect but also the clothes are pretty good quality and worth looking at.
There are two water parks in Sunny Beach and these both operate a free bus service both ways from about 20 different pick up points and I think from memory about £12 each admission so no need to book this with your rep just turn up any day you like. There is a boat trip that takes you all along the coast which was good £18 each for the day and includes food and plenty of drink!! Just a bit of a booze cruise really as there isn't that much to see, and those were the only trips we did so can't comment any further.
We did go into Nessebar though a couple of times and really enjoyed it. Its a bit quieter than Sunny Beach and older the buildings are nice and the streets narrow and lined with old shops selling there wares. You can get to Nessebar by boat, taxi or the little train that runs round the streets and will cost you about £1 each and its well worth going if you fancy a bit of peace a quiet for the day. We sat in a bar up in the hills one afternoon looking out over the sea its like a different world from the hussle and bustle of Sunny Beach and only about 1km away.
The Bugarian people are very nice, which always makes a holiday for me they are extremely helpful and speak very good english which is good as Bulgarian is a hard language to learn!!
If you like Bulgaria you could even buy your own place there, studios just on the outskirts of Sunny Beach start at about £10,000 and they have payment plans which make them very affordable. They are a stable country and are in the eu now and building work is going on like mad. We went on a viewing trip one day with an english estate agent over there and worried before that we would be given the hard sell, but it was totally the opposite we went round loads of different building sites and show homes, it felt like an episode of A Place in the Sun!! And in the end we decided on a one bed apartment on Royal Sun a big new developement in Sunny Beach so we will be back every year now!
All in all Sunny Beach Bulgaria is a fantastic holiday spot, its not what you expect, I think more and more people are starting to catch on that its a good place to go. There arn't that many brits going there yet and so there are a lot of european holiday makers there but this isn't a problem at all, and if you like nightlife its THE place for you.
...quiet bay 10km north of Sunny Beach. The village works on an "all inclusive basis". This was the first time we'd ever gone all inclusive and as everything in the town is so cheap, if we were to go back it would probably have been the last time we'd gone all inclusive aswell.
The apartments in the village are clean. All rooms have terrace, telephone, SAT TV, mini bar, bathroom with hairdryer and air conditioning. The family suites have a bathtub ... ...resort is the resort of Sunny Beach. To sum Sunny Beach up, I'd say think Magaluf and Benidorm without the larger lout mentality. Some parts of Sunny Beach reminded me of Blackpool, a Bulgarian-Blackpool styled by soviets. Sunny Beach is still developing but even now it's the biggest Black Sea resort. It boasts the longest and widest beach strip, over 100 hotels and a prestigious 'Blue Flag International prize for proven ecological advantages'.

...but rather quiet. Then we found Sunny Beach and the difference is unbelievable. The first year we stayed at The Riu Helios, then The Sunny Dreams Apartments. Both of these are very good quality for money.but then the best ,The Majestic Hotel. We were staying at the Elite 3 apartment's which is part of an apartment complex, all with very large pools, bar, restaurants, shops and amusements. ...at the Majestic hotel in Sunny Beach. We had read some scary reports on this hotel, in particular block 2, so when we checked in and were given a room in block two we were worried. The Porter showed us to our room, and we were pleasantly surprised, we had booked a twin room, but had been upgraded to a suite.

As for the food, I am a vegetarian and my husband is not, yet we still managed to both get food poisoning. We only ate at the resturant and were careful with water, ice cubes, etc, so can only assume that there was something wrong at the hotel. We met other couples who were having the same problem. The food is all laid out and the tongs were getting mixed up - I ended ...

Quick review of Sunny Beach Resort
"Sunny beach, Bulgaria"
The resort extends from the unique museum town of Nessebar to the green south slopes of the Balkan mountain. The climate is similar to the Mediterranean, with warm to hot summer, refreshed by the sea breeze, mild winter, beautiful spring, starting around mid March and long sunny autumn, lasting till the middle of December. The average summer temperatures are around 30 degrees air and 25 degrees water. The resort is open all year round.
The beach is spacious, 10km long, with fine golden sands and dunes.
The resort offers various opportunities for sport and fun - tennis, bowling, horse-riding, aquaparks. Most of the restaurants, pubs and clubs are open 24h. ...

After reading the report titled "Vulgaria" I feel I must pass my opinions on Bulgaria.Having visited the country seven times,my wife and I find it superb.SunnyBeach is the biggest resort.Set on one of the finest beaches in the World why, even Holiday Which rated the beach on a par with the Carribean.Food is very good, with a varied choice of meats,(never seen brains on any menue),but pork, chicken, beef, and of course the very tasty Black Sea fish.Eating is a pleasure in Bulgaria. All the meats,as well as the fresh veg.being Organic.Never once have we seen any coackroaches etc.anywhere!Trees abound throughout SunnyBeach, making it a very green location. As for "Driving through Dracular Country" are you sure you were in Bulgaria?,becouse "He" is resident in Romania!!.SunnyBeach offers a holiday to remember, and for all the right reasons ...
