We have been to Bulgaria every year since 2002 and 2008 was the best. We started off in Albena which is to the north very nice but rather quiet.Then we found Sunny Beach and the difference is unbelievable. The first year we stayed at The Riu Helios, then The Sunny Dreams Apartments. Both of these are very good quality for money.but then the best ,The Majestic Hotel. Having seen this hotel being built we were eager to try it out and believe me we were not disappointed with what we found. The moment you see it from the beach you will think it would not look out of place in Las Vegas, its massive and its PINK, yes PINK.From the beach you stroll up past the two huge pools to the waterfall then up the steps to an enormous patio with luxurious seating areas . Through the main door into the spacious reception and bar with for a change polite and helpful staff. The rooms are large and well furnished to a high quality. There is an enormous dinning room where you can sit anywhere for breakfast,and for your evening meal you will be allocated your own table, which you keep for the duration of your stay . The food , my favourite bit of the holiday. Breakfast is plentiful with the usual cereals and fruit juices, sausages, eggs, bacon(streaky) tomatoes and beans that are massive but nice. Crepes cakes and lots of fruit, plenty to see you through the day. Evening meals consist of a good vatiety of cooked dishes with lots of veal, chicken and fish with most vegetables . There are plenty of sweets, but the highlight is" Doctor Nicky's Special" a mixture of Ice cream, fruit, Snapps and another liquer, I had a couple and was on my way to a session. The beds around the pools are the most comfortable that I have ever been on 4 inch mattresses that you fall asleep on, brilliant. The majestic is everything we wanted in a hotel, we have booked again for 2009 and are set to book again for 2010 for the World Cup. If you want a good holiday with an outstanding hotel then go to The Majestic in Sunny Beach and enjoy.

Advantages: Cheap hoilday, not overcrowded, friendly people,fantastic food,beer 30p a pint,Not a 'tourist trap' Disadvantages: Street vendors harassing you, hygiene in toilets, quite a long journey, can be crowded at PEAK times
