Advantages: Complete package to relax. Lovely beach. Clean resort (Makadi) Disadvantages: No shops to walk around close by.

The Sunrise Royal Makadi comprises of many blocks of low level buildings spead across a large area divided by swimming pools and gardens. The resort is located right on it's own private beach which has it's own free sunbeds and parasols, also a free bar and a few shops, ... ...is beautiful and has many nice shops and bars. I have many photos and videos if you wish to see.
I would definately recomend the Sunrise Royal Makadi Resort.

HOTEL
For our first stay in egypt we decided to stay at the Sunrise Royal Makadi resort at Makadi Bay in October 2009. This resort is situated about 40 minutes drive south of the main town of Hurghada and the airport. The Sunrise Royal Makadi comprises of many blocks of low level buildings spead across a large area divided by swimming pools and gardens. The resort is located right on it's own private beach which has it's own free sunbeds and parasols, also a free bar and a few shops, but not to many.
ROOMS
The room we ( 2 adults ) were allocated was in block 35 and consisted of firstly a room which had 2 single beds and a tv, then a row of fitted wardrobes and the bathroom with a large shower but no bath, then the main bedroom which had a queen sized bed, tv, table and chairs, then onto the balcony which looked over one of the swimming pools. We also had a free electronic safe in the room which you enter your own code to use, we had a kettle and cups and we were told to bring free coffee sachets and jug of milk from one of the resturants. The room was of good size and had plenty of cupboard room. The room was cleaned every day with clean towels, bed linen, and shower gel etc.
RESTUARANTS
There are many resuarants on the resort, some you have to book the day previously which we did not bother doing as we used the main resuarant every day. We had no problem with the food which was plentiful. There were many chefs cooking in front of you so you could just ask for what you wanted and could see it was fresh. Same could be said for the snack bar outside that started at 12 o'clock There were 3 chefs cooking, one doing fresh pizzas, you tell what you want on them, one doing the chips and burgers or whatever is on that day, and one with the kebabs.
BARS
There are many bars located within the resort. There are bars in and around the swimming pools,and on the beach. A small tip to the bar tender will make sure he looks after you for the rest of the day, delivering your drinks to your table without you even asking!!!
BEACH
The beach is of lovely clear water and nice sand. There are a couple of coral reefs just a few meters out so make sure you have your goggles and snorkel. There are plenty of fish to see. There are amenities on the beach like jets skis and the usual rides, there is a guy with a camel which walks up and down the beach all day.
SHOPPING IN HURGHADA
As for shopping you have to go the the town of hurghada which is 40 mins away and is reachable by the bus that goes from the hotel and costs 7 euros return and is bookable in reception. Takes you at 10 in the morning and collects you at 1pm in Hurghada. As for hurghada itself it is not the cleanest town. Lots of rubbish lying around and poor pavements. You do get hassled by the locals to go to their shop but thats what you do if you want a bargain. Lots of souveniers and handbags so dont forget to haggle. We paid about a euro for a large bottle of beer they called stella ( not ours) at the pavement bars. All these are located around the macdonalds stop. You can walk from here down to the marina which is beautiful and has many nice shops and bars. I have many photos and videos if you wish to see. I would definately recomend the Sunrise Royal Makadi Resort.
