Advantages: Situated near the promenade overlooking St Paul's Bay and Islands Disadvantages: Bedrooms not as luxurious as reception. More fresh fruit needed.
...Malta is a beautiful Mediterranean island and I have stayed at several of the many hotels there.
Our most recent holiday started with an offer we found through our Timeshare Group and was to stay in the Resort apartments at the Dolmen Resort Hotel, naturally we did some homework and discovered we could stay HB at the same hotel for much less than our apartment deal and airfares, and we would have still needed food! So we booked and a few weeks later we left snowy Scotland for the Maltese sunshine.
Situated in Qawra, or at least on the outskirts! This hotel is separated from the sea by a road, but there is a tunnel underneath for easy access. The views from the hotel are lovely as it overlooks St Paul's Bay and Islands. The promenade is just across the road and is well used and with many benches is a popular place to sit and enjoy...

...the beech and Alcudia resort town centre, however the hotel have a free bus which takes you to the beach every half hour, which runs from 8am in the morning until late at night.
You do have a few pubs (quite a few which are English) and karaoke bars a short walk way from the hotel also. There are tobacco shop and various other supermarkets can be found on that same strip.
Also just across from the hotels is a very large water park, which is about 16 euros to enter and very popular with families. Your club reps will be able to make this cheaper for you if you do decide to visit the park.

...WHY SRI LANKA YOU ASK?
J & I had been to Sri Lanka for a holiday when we first started seeing each other. We had booked a last minute deal & stayed in a guest house . Whilst there we spent our days at the 5* Bentota Beach hotel using the pool & bar, for a small fee of £2 you can go to any hotel & use their facilities. This is a nice way of checking out the other hotels & generally being nosey. We fell in love with the place & decided then that if we went back we would stay at the hotel. One of the main things that had swung it for me was the resident elephant who was also part of the wedding ceremony.
Sri Lanka or Ceylon as it was once known is an Island off the southern tip of India in the Indian Ocean .It is a ten & three quarter hour journey if flying direct. There are sometimes stopovers in the Maldives which is a wonderful place...
