NewSuper Mario Brothers Review
This game was one of the first games I got for my Nintedo Ds as I could tell it was going to be great. If you somehow never heard of Mario he is probably the most famous games character and probably part of the reason Nintendo have been so successful with the DS and Wii as they can make as many Mario games they like. Any type of game Mario can be a part of whether it is sports, action, platforming or even racing with the great game Mario Kart (reviewed both DS and Wii version which are both brilliant games!)
However here Mario goes back to his old roots to make an absolutely wonderful game! The story is the same as most Super Mario games with Princess peach stolen by Bowser and Mario and Luigi have to try and save her. The storyline is good even though you know what is coming and I think it is ...
Advantages: Luigi Super Guide, Multiplayer, 9 Worlds Disadvantages: If not a skilled player it can be quite hard
This game is excellent!
You play as Mario through nine worlds, all differently themed. If you aren't skilled, don't worry. If you fail at a course EIGHT consecutive times, Luigi calls in as the Super Guide and goes through it for you. You can stop him at any time to carry on as Mario.
When playing with a friend, Player 1 is automatically Mario but Player 2 can be Luigi or a Toad.
In my opinion I would give it 10/10 but maybe Wario would make it better.
Like the NewSuper Mario Bros. DS, in each world there is a small castle and a large castle. There are also cannon walkthroughs.
With it being difficult, you can play it for ages and not complete it. This can be a positive aspect sometimes.
Overall, if you like Mario and platform games, you'll like this! ...

of the stages features secondary exits and two whole Worlds can in fact be considered as "secret". Coupled with the fact that some routes lead to pipes that get you straight to that World's castle, or even to Warp Canons that instantly transport you to a following World, it becomes apparent that a large portion of the game can actually be skipped, minimizing the time needed to complete it.
But the beauty of NewSuper Mario Bros. is that it's so fun that even if you finish it in record time, you are guaranteed to go back and check on what you've missed. It is not a dramatic romantic adventure that you need to play through as fast as possible to get to the resolution. It's all about enjoying the ride and quite a ride it is.
Each of the 8 Worlds has its own theme, be it "Desert", or "Clouds", with the only constant being the castles and fortresses ...
