St Annes NOT Lytham

Advantages: lovely
Disadvantages: rubbish when it rains

, cafes, pubs, restaurants (we like the Italian ones)and some well known shops such as wh smiths. It also has Ashton gardens which has a great park for children and lovely gardens etc. It is now being refurbished There are lots of dance and performing arts academies in St Annes which give fantastic opportunities for children. I love walking along the front on a nice day - it makes me feel like I am on holiday whether it is is through the gardens or along the front. The streets are very quiet but not so you feel unsafe at least in the daytime. It has the Old Links Golf Club which hosts the Opens. I am not familiar with golf so any information you want about this can be found on the internet. I think St Annes is great but it is changing to try and get tourists in to make money - this I don't like - I am quite happy with a quiet ...

Review of Lytham St Annes

Join The Club

Advantages: Clean, comfortable, well-located. Can be very good value for money.
Disadvantages: Can be very expensive on weekdays

Club Quarters began as a members-only hotel in Boston, and has now grown to include twelve hotels in the US and UK - a thirteenth is opening shortly at the old Ministry of Defence headquarters site in Northumberland Avenue. The ethos of Club Quarters is to provide a comfortable and competitively-priced in a club-like atmosphere. However for the average traveller in London the secret of staying at Club Quarters for a good price (whether the St. Paul's or Gracechurch versions) is normally to avoid weekdays when the price shoots up, driven by the business customers or members. Although many tourists flock to the hotels in the West End and the Kensington to Earl's Court area, there is a lot to be said for the City as a tourist location. Many of London's oldest places of interest are located in, or near it, it is the most interesting part ...

Review of Club Quarters St. Paul's, London

A little gem in the shadow of the Tower and the Big one

Advantages: Very pleasant, relaxing and lots to do
Disadvantages: Not much night life if that's what you like

I must be one of the only people who can't stand Blackpool - I find it tacky, noisy, expensive, a nightmare to park and I hate having to go. We live fairly close to Blackpool (about 30 minutes away) and have a son who is always wanting to go to the Pleasure Beach there - when we do take him , we drop him off amidst the crowds of girls in pink t-shirts with smutty slogans on and we spend our time at the much nicer Lytham St Annes - just a few minutes up the coast. Lytham St Annes is actually a combination of Lytham, St Annes ( proper name St Annes on Sea), Ansdell and Fairhaven and is situated just three miles south of Blackpool. In complete contrast to Blackpool this is a far more relaxed area where you can enjoy peaceful parks, beautiful gardens and admire some beautiful buildings. The population of this area tends to be ...
