Foreign language films are rarely top of my watch list although I have seen some cracking examples. Invariably those that I like tend to the arty side of cinema. Occasionally there'll be a foreign language breakthrough like Amelié which brings this genre to the attention of a wider audience whereas films such as Tous les Matins du Monde will remain forever in the background.
Cinema Paradiso is, however, a film that is both accessible and beautiful and cannot fail to be appreciated by anyone with a love of cinema. That it is subtitled is far from distracting, the photography taking care of the story for the most part and one is quickly subsumed into a world that is all encompassing.

...I am fortunate to live right next to a large Shopping Centre, that not only contains many good stores but is itself surrounded by many other retailers, restaurants, cinemas, etc.
My favourite attraction: the Cineworld multiplex.
Cineworld is Britain's second largest multiplex cinema operator in the United Kingdom, with 74 cinemas and over 800 screens.
It also has one cinema in Jersey and another in the Republic of Ireland.
Its first cinema opened in 1996, and the company has since integrated the UGC cinema chain.
I like the "ambiance" at my local Cineworld. There is another huge cinema complex down the road, and even though everything in it is more spacious (lobby, screen rooms, washrooms) and boasts a slicker, more sophisticated decor, it feels colder and less welcoming.

I used to live in Suffolk not far from Bury St Edmunds. For many years there had been proposals to build a multiplex cinema and the fighting by both sides had been intense. In Suffolk the yes/no camps for a multiplex were as firmly entrenched as the yes/no campaigners for fox-hunting, adoption of the Euro or banning smoking in public places.
