Having spent my years surfing the 'Bay of Plenty' and witnessing the change after the piers were built. I can give a new commer to this break a little help in the understanding of the wave and mind set of the riders. Localism is rife in Durban with schools dominated by the break that they ride as a continuation of inter sport rivalry. The majority of the waves are right breaks though you do get a short hollow left in the bowl section.
