Sutton Place Vancouver is an elegant, luxurious, European-styled boutique hotel. It has received the highest \\\Five Diamond\\\" rating by AAA for the 15th consecutive year. One of Vancouver\\\'s most beautiful boutique hotels, situated in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The spectacular setting, with recently renovated luxurious guestrooms, allows guests to experience exceptional service and all the needed amenities within the cosmopolitan ambience of the city set against a majestic backdrop of mountains and sea. With its opulent surroundings, The Sutton Place Hotel, Vancouver brings a taste of Europe to one of North America\\\'s most beautiful cities."
Advantages: Pretty much perfection Disadvantages: Rains alot!
...and American chain stores, a large supermarket, cinemas, coffee shops and lots of bars and restaurants, plus the Holiday Inn hotel which does great cocktails if you need a break from all that retail exercise. Downtown Vancouver shopping is outside but more varied with quirky stores as well as designer outlets, chain stores, thrift stores (charity shops) and lots more. Robson Street is the place to expend most of your shopping calories and this crosses with Granville street for more bargain finds. Trendy bars, restaurants and cafés are strewn all around these areas.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
If you’re an exercise-hating teetotaller on a diet, Vancouver STILL won’t leave you alone! You will have endless options such as the theatre – the Queen Elizabeth theatre is top class, ballet, opera, classical and popular music concerts, spectator sports, art...

...INTRODUCTION
It was the first time Ms Larsbaby and myself had been to Vancouver, and without first hand experience of knowing where to stay, we had a look on the net and took this hotel booked for us by the excellent Trailfinders, which was one of their options.
LOCATION
The Century Plaza is pretty much was the heart of the shopping and eating area of downtown on Burrard Street and so is ideally placed for the tourist. This end of Burrard Street had several restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a Market Place supermarket which had lots of excellent foodstuffs as well as a café which serves nice paninis. Just a short walk to the north was Robson Street, which had lots of shops such as Gap & Banana Republic, and a lot of Asian restaurants. There was also an interesting looking hot dog stand very close by which...

Advantages: 4 Star hotel in Downtown Vancouver Disadvantages: Just a few extras to make the room better
...a rest! A fair sized gym with bikes, stair-masters, weight machines, treadmills, and work out machines. There was a sauna, pool and Jacuzzi, and also a children's indoor play area. Towels were free and a water machine, plus a spray and paper towels to clean the machines before or after use. Shower and changing facilities were available and lockers were free.
Other facilities
There were meeting rooms and ballrooms and on the day we left there was a wedding planned. A business centre was available and internet access in the lounge and bar, although it was quieter in your room. The small bar near the lifts was very quiet in the early evening but got busier late at night.
On-site parking, fee: $5 hourly, $21 daily Valet parking, fee $26 daily.
The tour buses and trams stopped opposite the hotel and as Canada Place, the Lookout...
