I'd rather slap myself with a dead skunk.
Advantages: Not the only airport in the world. Disadvantages: Staff.
...anything dead than go through Skavsta airport again. Never have I been treated so horribly at an airport than I was at Skavsta. I still feel like going there and pooping on the steps of that tiny building. I've been flying around Europe and North America several times, but I cannot remember being treated so badly anywhere else. This unfortunate event took place during july 2003 (I think) and it surely shook me to the core. I was flying from Glasgow ... ...was when the staff at Skavsta saw my Finnish passport they immediately expected me to understand and speak Swedish. We did have to (I mean: were forced) to study Swedish language in schools in Finland during my pupil years, but that law has been long gone and not many really bothered anyway.
I was truly appalled. Treated like trash because of the way I looked and because of my nationality. Fair enough, they did not voice these things to my face, ...

Skavsta - Get fined while unloading the car
Advantages: Ryanair flyes there Disadvantages: Not family friendly at all
...the absence of trolleys at Skavsta Airport. Trolleys are now at their place (2006-01-09).
I am sorry that I have deleted by mistake my previous report.
Something else has happened recently to Skavsta and I think it mighyt be of general interest:
-----------
This is what I wrote to the company responsible for the parking tickets (fines) at Skavsta Airport: =
Dear sirs,
On 23rd DEC 2005 my family and myself arrive at Skavsta airport, ... ...wrote to the manager of Skavsta Airport, sending copy of the above mails:
Dear .....
I wonder if this is in accordance to the service that Skavsta airport gives to customers.
The answer I got from parking company is the following:
"you cannot unload the car by yourself". This means I have to drop my wife and the kids. I cannot leave the car. I have to park the car at the short-term parking. Unload the car (as I am alone, I have to do several ...

The smallest airport I've ever seen
Advantages: Small, quick to get in an out Disadvantages: Not exactly in Stockholm
...the North/South Swedish motorway E4, Skavsta airport is one of Sweden's fastest growing airports and one of the largest Cargo airports in the whole of Sweden. The airport provides easy access to Stockholm City, and the main parts of nearby towns Norrköping, Linköping and Södertälje. Currently the only passenger airline operating from Skavsta is Ryanair, but the aiport has been designed with expansion in mind, and will be capable of handling 1million ... ...bar facilities including an airside shop where you can get savings of up to 50 % off "High Street" prices on cosmetics & perfumes etc.
The airport itself is tiny, just one level - so no stairs, lifts or escalators, making it suitable for people with disabilities.
The airport was originally a military base in second world war, but developed into a civil airport in 1984. In 1998 it was bought from the local authority by TBI, an experienced international ...

A small but well run airport.
Advantages: Small, Efficient, Fast service Disadvantages: Quite distant from Stockholm itself
Skavsta (NKO) - near Norkopping in Sweden is the small regional airport (actually the second largest frieght airport in Sweden, but small in terms of passenger flights) in Sweden. As far as I am aware, they cater only for a few inbound and outbound flights per day, and as you leave the aiport on the excellent (although 90 minute) coach to Stockholm city, you can often see the customs officials heading off to their cars to go home! Although quite ...
