Sweden! a lttle taste of Paradise!
Advantages: Clean, clean, clean!!! friendly locals, good transport, beautiful atmosphere-natural and cultural Disadvantages: Expensive
I don't know, but I've always had a great desire to go to Sweden. Scandanavia has always been so appealing...so different and interesting! And my wish came true back in April when i finally got on the plane with 3 of my friends, heading for Sweden!
It was cold leaving London...rainy and completely miserable! And leaving to go to a famously known cold country....we expected bitterly cold weather. So we packed loads of winter clothes, only to find ... ...beautiful warm weather, and that's how it stayed pretty much for the 4 days we were there for. When we landed, we'd already fallen in love with Sweden even though it was the first time any of us had ever been there. There was forest everywhere and no carrier bags flyinf about or anything!
Sweden is probably one of the cleanest...if...THE cleanest countries in the world! Honestly and no joke, i did not see an ounce of dirt anywhere for the first ...

A-moose-ment Park
Advantages: An unusual and fun day out Disadvantages: None
Having lived in London for several years I have finally started to appreciate many of the things that I couldn't get away from quickly enough when I lived with my parents in the south of Sweden. If anybody had said to me when I was 18 that I would (out of my own free will) go to a moose park in Kosta I would have laughed them straight in the face - no way! However, things change and when I brought bf home to visit a few weeks ago my parents had organised ... ...to a moose park that they said had become a big tourist attraction in the last few years. Him being English he had never seen a moose and went moose-spotting in the forest every time we went to visit with no luck whatsoever. Now, there are plenty of them around but as my mum rightly pointed out - they won't exactly come running towards you if you walk around talking as they are generally shy animals. For anybody that would like some background on ...

Malmö, a wonderful hotpot of old and new!
Advantages: the people, lovely parks summertime, great links to Denmark, many cultures represented, The Malmo festival! Disadvantages: can't think of any, but being from the city I'm probably very biased :=)
The first 17 years of my life I spent in Malmö, Sweden so as you might just guess it is indeed a part of the world very close to my heart. I thought I'd start off by telling you a bit of the history of the city, what to do and see and share a few of my own favourite gems.
Malmö, Sweden's third-largest city, is a commercial hub and a cosmopolitan metropolis, with a population of 270,000 people who between them speak more than 100 languages and have ... ...which once belonged to the Danes, is first mentioned in writing in the 1170s. It grew in the following centuries from the size of a small village into a fortified town that played its part in the violent history of the medieval period. The swedes and Danes then battled it out for the next couple of hundred years, when finally the Swedes in 1658 took control of Skåne, Halland and Blekinge from the Danish king.
Malmö has undergone massive changes ...

St Andrews without the golf
Advantages: Excellent day trip venue Disadvantages: Linneaus Gardens
For me, Uppsala is the Swedish version of St Andrews, but without the golf, an old city steeped in history especially as an important religious centre that now revolves almost entirely around its university.
Uppsala is approximately 45 minutes north of Stockholm by train which will cost less than £10 for a day return and the trains run extremely frequently during the day, approximately every half hour and more at peak times. This makes Uppsala an ... ...up the core of the Uppsala social scene. Officially you are not permitted entrance to events unless you are a Swedish student, but this seems to be relatively relaxed for foreigners especially if you have an ISIC card or some other form of student ID.

Where the road ends...
Advantages: Lots of snow, few people Disadvantages: Few people
...big holidays, so if you're looking for something to do at night I would suggest that you go in to Funäsdalen a few Swedish miles away.
At last, Ramundberget is beautiful and has a lot of great skiing/snowboarding possiblities. I highly recommend it to both pros and "newbies" :-) ...
