My Stay at the Stenungsbaden Yacht Club, Stenungsund, Sweden.
Advantages: Quality accomodation and food Disadvantages: A la carte food is expensive
I stayed in the Stenungsbaden yacht club while on business in Stenungsund in the Autumn of 2008. Rooms are available for around 1000 SEK per night. The hotel is located 45km from Gothenburg and gives excellent access to the North of Sweden and Norway ( from Gothenburg, you follow the road signs for Oslo). Stenungsbaden is located on the outskirts of Stenungsund, and is a 20 minute walk from the Bus and Train station in Stenungsund centre. The view ... ...this would add another appealing dimension to the stay at the Stenungsbaden for me. There is regular bus and train service from Stenungsund to Gothenburg, both hourly. I generally relied on the extremely professional taxi service operating in Stenungsund, due to the normally early morning flights I was taking. ...

A fantastic hotel with a splendid view
Advantages: Beautiful scenery - great restaurant Disadvantages: a little pricey - rooms a little out dated
...booked this charming four star hotel for two nights last August.
*Arrival & check in*
It took us two hours to arrive at the hotel from our starting location. En route we took in many beautiful views of the county of Dalecarlia or Dalarna as it is also named. For around twenty minutes on our approach to the hotel we were following the shores of Lake Siljan which was a spectacular sight in itself. We soon arrived at Tällberg which is a little picturesque ... ...found the turning to the hotel and entered its long and winding road up to the parking area at the front of the hotel.
The hotel stood very splendid on top of a hill with vast views across Siljan, this was certainly a perfect spot for the hotel. The hotel looked appealing and grand in typical Dalarna red wooden style and we couldn't wait to enter!
On entering the building, the lobby and reception area was large with stone floors, well decorated ...

The surprise was the city itself.
Advantages: Price, cleanliness, service. Disadvantages: Compact rooms
We stayed at the Ibis Karlstad in May 2006 during a 2 week holiday in sweden. We only stayed in Karlstad because it was halfway on our journey from Oslo to Stockholm. Before arriving we knew little about Karlstad, and were unsure whether it was a good idea to spend 2 days here. It was the best decision we made.
Karlstad itself has very little in terms of historical buildings (due to a fire in the late 1800's), however despite this it is one of the ... ...is upstairs, and the main ibis sign is on the upper walls further round. If you reach the library you have walked too far.
The hotel is small and rooms are compact (although not tiny). Rooms were clean, service was good, and at £37 per night was the cheapest hotel on our trip. The only peculiarity was that 2 sides of the bed had a wooden side (and no it wasnt top+bottom, it was top and right), so if you were sharing a double, one of you may feel ...
