Girgis. Talk a walk to the Nile at night. Its enchanting. To the pyramids at Giza hail a cab from outside the hostel. The Egyptian museum is walkable distance if you care for it othwerwise hail a cab. Islamic Cairo and the Khan-EKhalili market is also within waling distance but a taxi should only cost 5EGP. Walking in that area on Saturday night will be quite an experience if you wander away from the touristy market to the local market. It was quite an experience. There were multitudes of people selling everything from fresh figs to spices. Sara Inn is also close to a 2 money changers. Once again the guys at Sara Inn will be able to help you. Cairo is not what some people make it out to be , a tout central. After a few hours in the city , you can easily spot the touts so the best way to deal with them is to say "Laa Shukran" with a smile ...

Review of Sara Inn Hostel, Cairo

Good hotel with an Excellent view

Advantages: Amazing view of nile, nice rooms and friendly staff
Disadvantages: a lot of noise

I went to Cairo for 3 days and stayed at the Nile Hilton and was impressed with this hotel. The rooms are quite good and are all clean. The rooms are all equipped with air conditioning, TV, phone and mini bar. The service was good. The receptionist were very helpful in sorting out my room and spoke very good English. The hotel has got a good swimming pool at the back of the hotel with a tennis court. There are many shops in the hotel, on the ground floor there are about 10 shops but at the back of the hotel there are two floors of shops. The shops inside the hotel were expensive. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and I would definitely go back there again. The food at the hotel is nice as there a wide range of choices. There is an Italian restaurant which offered a buffet or could choose from the menu. The buffet wasn't very good ...

Come on Inn the hotels lovely...

Advantages: Amazing food, friendly and professional staff, lovely rooms
Disadvantages: £20 cab ride away from airport, sound proofing not as good as it could be

with the person in my office that books the accommodation. They said to me, "I'll try and get you in to the City Inn" I thanked them, but at that point just had the impression it would be a fairly bog standard chain hotel. My manager enthused about the place though, saying the food was really good. First Impressions ********************* To get to the hotel from Glasgow airport is around a 20 minute cab ride. This costs between £18-£21 depending on traffic. On my first trip up the cab driver was very chatty and friendly, and I marvelled at the difference to the 'lovely' black cab drivers of London town. He kept me entertained the length of the journey. He did ask me why I'd chosen the City Inn and I told him that my company really liked it, and that the food was supposed to be good.
