On arrival at this amazing hotel I was taken back by the luxury of it all...It is an all glass triangular hotel wedged between the merger of the Chicago river and Lake Michigan on E.Wacker Drive and has fantastic views of Navy Pier and Grant Park....Hotel is close to all the major chicago attractions including Navy pier and the Shedd Aquiarium and the Magnificent Mile.......It is within easy reach of the C.T.A( Chicago Transport Agency) We made our own way from Ohare Airport using the CTA and our stop was only 10 minutes walking from the station to the hotel...........On arriving we passed through a large oversized revolving door leading into an impressive lobby... Check in was very smooth and we were offered an upgrade to a lake side view room...Staff were very helpful and polite and went out of their way to help....On entering the room - I was very pleasantly surprised - the view was amazing looking out over Lake Michigan and we watched the fireworks from here on the Saturday night at Navy Pier sipping a glass of wine from the very reasonably priced mini bar......The rooms are oversized and spotlessly clean - Beds are queensized with quality bedding and are so comfortable ensuring a brilliant nights sleep....A gorgeous bathroom with separate shower cubicle and marble bath with complimentary designer toiletries and fluffy white bathrobes....Also included is a large closet.....with ironing baord and iron, huge TV with satellite channels and a huge desk and recliner chair....A hairdryer is attached in the bathroom and free newspapers in the morning........There was also a coffee maker and an ice machine in the room opposite us............. The hotel boasts a indoor heated swimming pool on the 42nd floor with amazing views over the city - a very large fitness room also..... The very famous Palm Restaurant is part of this hotel and is renowned for its seafood and prime steaks but the prices were extortionate and there were much more reasonable places to eat in the city..........In the lobby there is a bar where you can relax and watch the world go by....there is an escalator down to the basement which leads to the Geneva restaurant where we tried breakfast one morning and it was not recommended or very impressive - we found a lovely all u can eat restaurant just round the corner with fresh omlettes ..................All in all a lovely hotel in a great location but needs a little updating - is looking a little tired - We travelled in January with American Airlines and got the deal on Expedia which was around £475 each for 4 days which I thought was a good price for a 5 star hotel.....I would definatley return to this hotel and thoruoghly recommend it
