Bangkok on Sea or Family Friendly Fun?

Advantages: Offers something for everyone, cheap
Disadvantages: Not easy on the eye, choose where you stay based on the kind of holiday you want

I am sure, up until the day he died, my husband wondered how he managed to convince me that Pattaya would be a great destination for a family holiday. However, he did manage it and more to the point, our visit was a memorable one. Whilst I cannot say I have any desire to ever go back, I am glad I have seen one of Thailand?s main beach resorts which is the antithesis to more traditional destinations such as Koh Samui or Hua Hin. Pattaya is often known as ?Bangkok on Sea?, and the town itself is situated just over 100 miles from Bangkok, or about a 90 minute drive away. We arrived in Bangkok and as ever, spent the first night there attempting to sleep off our jetlag. Next morning found us at the Ekamai bus station purchasing tickets from a woman who was most reluctant to give my husband his change. We had decided to travel from ...

Chaophya Park Hotel Bangkok Review

Advantages: Price, Facilities
Disadvantages: Location

I stayed in Chaophya Park, August 2007, along with 20 other family members. I had decided to get married in Phuket and thought it would be nice to have a few days in Bangkok to show familiy how fantastic the city is. I have visited Bangkok many times, but on this occassion had the daunting task of trying to find a hotel that would meet the requirements of all party members. Chaophya Park did just that! On arrival into Bangkok the 22 strong party were whisked away to our first hotel, Chaophya Park. First impressions were very good. The staff on the reception desk were extremley helpful and managed to allocate all the room keys with no problems. The room itself was very impressive we had a deluxe room. It was large, clean and had all the little extras like tea/coffee making facilities, tolitories in the bathroom and dressing gown ...

The Wild Side Of Bangkok

Advantages: Cheap entrance, lots to see and do, very scenic
Disadvantages: None

Myself and my boyfriend visited Bangkok Zoo in October 2007. Getting there Bangkok Zoo is easily accessible by public transport. There are bus routes that run directly there or you can get a tuk tuk which is the option we chose. We paid £4 for a return journey to the zoo from our hotel. Admission Prices We paid £3.50 each for admission to the zoo which we thought was very reasonable as the zoo is quite large. Bangkok Zoo Bangkok Zoo covers 35.2 acres of land and 12 acres of water. It holds nearly 300 mammals, over a thousand birds and nearly 300 reptiles. We found the zoo to be spacious and relaxing. There is a large lake in the middle of the zoo, and several picnic areas dotted around. Sections of the zoo are joined by bridges which lead you over the lake. The zoo is split up into sections such as the African Savanah ...
