A lovely hotel in the Swiss Alps
Review of Ustreia Bavregn, Donat by
micksheff
Advantages: Friendly staff, excellent food
Disadvantages: Limited disabled access, only 12 rooms
...have owned the only hotel, Ustreia Bavregn in the Swiss Alpine hamlet of Donat (often spelled Donath) for well over three decades. I came here in the November of 1993 on a business trip and since this time I have recommended this place to dozens of different people, including my parents, but until February 2008 I had not had the chance to return.
When my company was once again looking for a location in Switzerland to meet with our Swiss, Italian, ... ...To say that Ustreia Bavregn is in an idyllic setting would be an understatement. At 1,043 metres above sea level (3,422 feet) the hotel stands on the lower slopes of some of the highest mountains in Europe. Donat is the sort of place where time stands still and if you had arrived here blindfolded you could be forgiven for thinking that you were in the middle of nowhere but in fact the E43, one the main routes through the Alps, between Northern Italy ...

Ms Marian Wickliffe
Review of Ibis Geneve Aeroport, Cointrin by
acinom
Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Lacked decor, unprofessional staff, inadequate restaurant
I have just arrived back from a short stay at this hotel in Geneva.
The location is convenient, five mins from the airport and ten from city. But unfortunately that is about all I have to say in its favour.
It is very basic, staff are unprofessional and rude, down to smoking in the reception area and consuming alcohol in the bar area, when supposed to be on duty. It does not make a good impression I am afraid.
Food on the evening menu is overpriced ... ...in the old city area for similiar prices to what this hotel was charging. We took breakfast in the Nash airport hotel next door which was lovely as we would not even consider having breakfast in the Ibis, after a bad experience with the dinner menu. I strongly advise, choose another hotel. ...

Beautiful Views Looking At The Eiger
Review of Hotel Eiger, Grindelwald by
littlekidjon
Advantages: Beautiful views, friendly staff, lovely rooms, lovely area, everything is just perfect
Disadvantages: Have to go outside the hotel to go to a pool
...word to say about this hotel it would be, brilliant, although i do have a lot more words to describe this hotel.
I have been to the Eiger Hotel twice in the last two years, and each time i have gone the service and hospitality has been wonderful! The waiters and the receptionists, every single worker is caring and helps you along your holiday.
The first time i came, we had a room facing the Eiger, the room was set out perfect and they helped us ... ...families first visit to the hotel they let us meet other people who were staying in the hotel that had been going for years. They told us all their stories about the hotel, and while we were chatting they gave us food and drink. Another great idea they have is when you have been out and about walking or skiing and you come back tired and hot, they have cakes and drinks which allows you to meet up with other families and also to just relax.
There ...

Staying in a Cuckoo Clock!
Review of Hotel Schwarzer Baren, Andermatt by
Ruthiejane
Advantages: Small, friendly, English spoken, not all rooms ensuite.
Disadvantages: Not very close to the railway station
...spent one night in this hotel during September. We walked from the railway station which took about 10 minutes, following a map downloaded from Multimap. As we approached the hotel we realised it was a traditional looking Swiss building, and my partner immediately said, "We're staying in a cuckoo clock!" The front door opens in the main bar/restaurant area. The area to the left is a bar, and several locals were enjoying evening drinks. To the right ... ...eat as well as other hotel residents, probably twenty people eating altogether. The menu included fondues, pasta dishes, two vegetarians dishes, pork and beef dishes as well as starters and ice cream desserts.
Breakfast was a buffet, with tea, coffee or hot chocolate brought to the table. The buffet included three cereals - cornflakes, museli and something that could have been Cinnamon Grahams. There was also bread, a selection of cheese and cold ...

A room with a view!
Review of Schlosshotel, Brig by
reddiguy
Advantages: Location, View, Parking, Price, Free Internet PC use, Brig is lovely!
Disadvantages: Small bathroom, no balcony for room 201, no air conditioning
...cereals, yoghurt, bread, bread rolls, preserves and a selection of meats and cheese (no croissants or pastries, or toast).
In all, we were very pleased with our stay at the Schlosshotel, and would recommend it to others who want a good, solid three star hotel with a great view! ...
