There are games and quizzes for the kids to do as you explore the aquarium, which is both fun and educational at the same time. There are live talks and demos given by the staff about the many different species etc. You are able to see many species of fish that are endangered. But what I found fun was feeding the Sting Rays. Some are big and some are small, but they are ALL friendly. They even let you touch them and play around. There's also the open pool part where you can holf and touch certain creatures. For example, I got to hold a star fish, which was quite interesting. However, the BEST part (well for me anyway) is nearer the end of the tour when a guide shows some of Australia's most famous reptiles. For example, I got the chance to touch a little crocodile (not something you do everyday!) See spiders up close (don't worry if you don't like spiders like me...you don't have to touch them or anything.) But the best part was holding the snake. It was an AMAZING experience. His name was George and he was very friendly and hung around my neck for a while. It is definately a WORTH WHILE experience.
And one more thing, there are mini boat rides within the aquarium where you can go over the waters where all the Stingray's, sharks etc. Except we didn't get to go, we JUST missed it because SOMEONE went up the esculator when they weren't meant to (no names mentioned).
So if you're ever in Sydney, and want something fun to do, i would HIGHLY recommend that you take a visit to Sydney Aquarium.

...Harbour, an attractive area of Sydney with its own unique monorail system. You can also get here by ferry, car (parking available) or take the short walk from the city centre.
Your 'journey' through the exhibits will take you across a range of aquatic Australian habitats, from rivers to mangroves and out into the ocean. As well as having loads of fish, there are platypus, turtles, penguins and a whole lot more. A special seal pool has been constructed ... ...tunnel with glass floor and sides.
There are a couple of other underwater tunnels that allow you to view some mighty impressive sharks, stingrays, eels, and more. There is also a rocky shore exhibition where you can look closely at some smaller little creatures such as starfish. The final exhibition 'recreates' the Great Barrier Reef, this impressed me so much that I headed up north to check out the real thing!!
You will want to spend a few hours ...

Advantages: Location, Large Rooms, Great Views Disadvantages: Very Pricey, Restaurant and Room Service Expensive
there is a gym and a nice restaurant located off the main foyer. The reception offer a postal service for those wishing to send postcards and a currency exchange facility.
I would recommend eating out most nights at one of the many restaurants on darling harbour as the hotel is extremely overpriced. They do offer lovely meals just very pricey. We had a full english breakfast every morning at a small cafe on the harbour for nothing more than about £3.50 each and this included a drink and toast so cant go wrong really.
Darling harbour itself offers a wide range of activities from boat rides to the SydneyAquarium and a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants. The easiest way to explore Sydney is by boat which is a very fast and cost efficient way of getting around. You can buy hopper tickets which allow you to get on and off ...

Advantages: Beautiful country, interesting animals, many things to do Disadvantages: Long distances to travel
stayed one weekend, I found that enough time to check out the touristy things. One thing you should do (if you can afford it) is to climb up the harbour bridge.
SydneyAquarium: Similar to other aquariums but a nice place to visit.
Taronga Zoo: You have to take a boat to get to this zoo. Once you are there, it is a big zoo, analogous to other zoos but with spectacular views. You are able to take pictures showing animals and the harbour bridge/the opera.
Cairns:
Journey: We drove all the way from Brisbane to Cairns - a two-day journey. I enjoyed driving all the way, as you can see wild animals and lots of the countryside. Over night you can stay in Motels, which is not too dear.
Snorkelling/Diving: We did not see a lot of the city, moreover we certainly saw the Great Barrier Reef from its best vantage point. The tourist centre ...
