Sydney's Star City buffet breakfasts a good bet

Advantages: Food was excellent, great city views and well-equipped gym
Disadvantages: Casino a bit drab, but is being upgraded.

...August 2008) at the glittering Star City Casino Hotel, located in Pyrmont, an inner city suburb of Sydney Australia. Previous reviews of this hotel have only really described the casino area, but you can have a great time staying here even if you aren't into gambling, because there's lots of places to eat and things to see and do. Also I took a few photos at the hotel, and readers may be interested in these. Good points were as follows. Excellent ...
...about waiting. RESTAURANTS AT STAR CITY The hotel (five star) has a range of restaurants. I dined at the Lotus Pond Chinese restaurant and found the food excellent ( I had stirfry prawns and rice plus vegetables). It was artistically arranged on the plate. The ambience was good, and the waitress helpful. The decor in the restaurant was charmingly Oriental with a kind of an elevated dining area with a moat around it, lanterns, soft lights and helpful ...

The Sydney Harbour Bridge

Advantages: Read Opp
Disadvantages: Read Opp

...next review is on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which is perhaps one of the most iconic monuments in Sydney, if not the whole of Australia. The Bridge is the main thing that stands out when you first arrive in Sydney, its like their gateway into and out of the City, and with its sheer size, its something that people should take the time to look at up close and personal. History: The bridge has a long history, original plans to create the bridge started ...
...connects two main sides of Sydney and is frequently used by people travelling to and from work everyday. Pedestrians are also able to walk along the bridge, and there is a section from which a train service operates. If your staying in Sydney for a number of days I would try walking and taking a train through the bridge because it gives you a detailed look of the surrounding Sydney area. Whilst staying in Sydney you may hear from a lot of travels ...

Oasis in Oz

Advantages: easy to navigate, clean and spacious
Disadvantages: none to think of

A very quick airport to navigate around with pleanty of helpful staff. The airport is clean and tidy and is very well appointed. After a long flight in, it was good that everything was well appointed. Cheap to get into the centre of Sydney by either local taxi or the hotel shuttle buses. Both are waiting at the departure exit doors. Upon leaving the check in time was so quick with 30 plus agents ready to book you in. Only downside is if you are a ...

Taronga Zoo

Advantages: Read Opp
Disadvantages: None

...is on my visit to Taronga City Zoo, which is located in Sydney Australia. I had heard some great reviews about the Zoo, and was told if your ever going to Sydney its one of the best places to visits in terms of finding out about the local wildlife which is indigenous to that part of the World. I was truly amazed, I have been to a lot of Zoo’s around the world, however I found the zoo, more exotic and exciting to visits and this however could be because ...
...and full of kids. The Taronga Food Market is a simple and convenient food hut, were you can pick up easy and quick food such as burgers and pizzas, chips, hot dogs to name just a few. For alcohol you can visit the local licensed Café, which offers some cold beverages, which go down very well on a very hot summer’s day. The local zoo shop is also there for visitors for people to purchase some great gifts that they can take back with them; these include ...

The Opera House

Advantages: Wasn't expensive
Disadvantages: Hour tour wasn't long enough

SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE Sydney Opera house is located on the eastern headland of Circular Quay just a few minutes from the train station. It is made up of 1,056,000 Swedish tiles on the roof, which are off white and are self-cleaning. Construction began in 1959 after a Danish architect Jorn Utzon won an international design competition for the $7 million building. In 1966 Utzon quit after political interference leaving Australian architects to ...
...When I was in Sydney I did a tour of the inside of the Opera House and I felt it was worthwhile as I had went the whole way to Australia I thought it would be a shame to not see the inside. The tour lasted and hour and gave you some history on the building. Short films were played on the walls of the Opera House telling you its story. You got to see inside some of the theatres where shows to suit everyone's taste and age are performed. Shows from ...
