Not a bridge too far.
Review of Sydney Harbour Bridge by manimal

Advantages: Excellent views, nice easy climb.
Disadvantages: Could book on a day with bad weather.

...him we were going to Sydney and his first response was to tell me to try the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb. After arriving in Sydney I asked my girlfriend Lucy when we are going to book it. She wasn't keen but I argued with her that it was something we would probably never get to do again. After about 3 days she finally agreed. We made our way down to The Rocks district of Sydney which is across the harbour from the opera house and where the booking ...
...you visit Sydney and don't do the climb you have missed out. It is well worth the money you pay. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and the whole set-up is extremely professional. I only hope I go back to Sydney one day so I can do it again. ... Read review

Oasis in Oz
Review of Sydney, Australia (SYD) by kinderscout2001

Advantages: easy to navigate, clean and spacious
Disadvantages: none to think of

A very quick airport to navigate around with pleanty of helpful staff. The airport is clean and tidy and is very well appointed. After a long flight in, it was good that everything was well appointed. Cheap to get into the centre of Sydney by either local taxi or the hotel shuttle buses. Both are waiting at the departure exit doors. Upon leaving the check in time was so quick with 30 plus agents ready to book you in. Only downside is if you are a ... Read review

Star City a bit of a disappointment
Review of Star City Casino by legal_angel25

Advantages: Looks nice, has a theatre
Disadvantages: No decent machines and crowded

...be honest, I found the Star City Casino in Sydney a bit of a disappointment. We went to Vegas a couple of years ago so I was getting ready to try my luck with video blackjack (my forté or weakness - however you see it!) When we got there, the place is impressive, lots of flashy lights and water fountains etc. but the casino itself was simply filled with row upon row of the same one-armed bandit-type machines which only the asians appeared to be able ...
...times as I read the rules it made no sense. The tables were crowded and the drinks were expensive. It does have the metrolink light railway station below the ground floor which is very convenient and if you wanted to make a night of it with the theatre then perhaps it might be worth it. But I have to say, given the choice it's Vegas Baby, Vegas. ... Read review

The Opera House
Review of Sydney Opera House by DeniseKelly40

Advantages: Wasn't expensive
Disadvantages: Hour tour wasn't long enough

SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE Sydney Opera house is located on the eastern headland of Circular Quay just a few minutes from the train station. It is made up of 1,056,000 Swedish tiles on the roof, which are off white and are self-cleaning. Construction began in 1959 after a Danish architect Jorn Utzon won an international design competition for the $7 million building. In 1966 Utzon quit after political interference leaving Australian architects to ...
...When I was in Sydney I did a tour of the inside of the Opera House and I felt it was worthwhile as I had went the whole way to Australia I thought it would be a shame to not see the inside. The tour lasted and hour and gave you some history on the building. Short films were played on the walls of the Opera House telling you its story. You got to see inside some of the theatres where shows to suit everyone's taste and age are performed. Shows from ... Read review

Sydney Tower - Towering Above the Rest?
Review of Sydney AMP Tower by folore

Advantages: Excellent 360 degree view of Sydney
Disadvantages: A bit expensive and always crowded

Sydney's Tower, the "Second Tallest Building in the Southern Hemisphere", is one of these attractions that one has to visit while in the city. Towering above all of the other already tall buildings, it offers a 360 degree view of the city from the observation deck, and is great for photo opportunities (unless the sun happens to be reflecting in the glass...) However, since *everyone* visits here, there isn't really a 'quiet' time to go. I tried in ...
...middle of a large group of excited children there on a school trip, as well as many other tourists that showed up anyway. Thus, there were long queues for the elevator, which meant about a 10-15 minute wait each way. What do you get for your money? Well, you get to go up and see the view, and also the opportunity to eat in the overpriced restaurant. You also get a seat for 'Oztrek' - a short film about Australia, which you may end up waiting up to ... Read review
