Have stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions & was very impressed, The consierge has all the information you could need & can make bookings for you at very short notice, The staff are all very helpful & the rooms appear to be well maintained. ...splash out and stay at Star City.....which is right in the heart of Darling Harbour in the city. After arriving at the airport we had our first bad experience in that they make you PAY for the airport Shuttle bus...not just any shuttle bus, the actual star city one! Disadvantages: Near very noisy pub, not a great view from apartment.

...other minor fault with the Meriton is we were in a one bedroom apartment but they had placed the beds so that you couldn't close the bedroom door. The location of the hotel was in the centre of the shopping district and to get to the major attractions of Sydney it was a 20-40 minute walk. My husband and I recently spent four days at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised at how near the hotel is to Central Station. There is no need to get a taxi, it took 5 minutes to walk. The hotel is in an old listed building, which is decorated in the Art Deco style. Our room was quite small but was clean and had everything you would expect from a four star hotel. The only downside was that we did not have a view, but this didn't really bother ...

...said, it is also a Best Western Hotel. Our room was small, but very comfortable and kame with a full-size fridge, microwave, kettle, sink and crockery. Tea and coffee making facilities were refreshed every day and the sheets were always very clean. The shower was excellent also.
