I went here in November 2006 with my boyfriend for 10 days.

We found the hotel perfectly placed for the hotels we wanted to visit, though a long walk down to the far end of Luxor, Mandalay Bay. But if you use the Deuce bus (5 dollars for 24hr pas) there is a bus stop right outside and a bus every 5-10 minutes.

ROOM: We booked the cheapest room "a deluxe" room and it was the nicest the room I have ever stayed in. It had a very large and extremely comfortable bed - specialist matress, a lovely cream beige decor. A television, fair sized wardrobe space and drawers, iron and ironing board. There was also an in-room safe which was extremely handy as we could keep money etc locked away.

The bathroom was all marble and had large bath with a shower over it and very good water pressure. Towels were changed often.

RECEPTION: When we arrived (apprx 4pm) there was no queue for reception and we asked for a strip view room which we got for an extra 50 dollars for the whole 9 nights, which I thought wasn't bad value, and when I saw the view I was really happy we'd paid extra - especially at night you could see the volcano at Mirage erupting and the fountain show at Bellagio (although quite a way down!).

CASINO: The casino area is smaller than some hotels but I liked this as you didn't get lost trying to get out. They had a good range of slots and a number of tables with all the usual games. The waitress service was fairly quick. We also signed up for the Players Club card, and we are not massive gamblers, but earned 3 free buffets, free slot play and free tickets to Cirque de Soliel (spelling), and they comped over 100 dollars of food.

FOOD: We ate in the buffet, evening and breakfast, and they were very enjoyable, though the service wasn't the best we received. We also ate in the Coffee shop and had a good value meal with friendly service. The diner is good for a quick snack/meal we had chicken dippers and portion was huge. Also had room service which I found to be quite fast and decent food. There are other restaurants we didn't try.

POOL: The pool area is quite small, it has a pool and jacuzzi. As we went in November (it was still warm enough to sit out by pool) it wasn't very busy and you could easily get a lounger but I think in summer it might be quite difficult.

SHOW: Every night there is a pirate show out the front of the hotel. The special effects are clever but it is quite raunchy so I wouldn't recommend for little kids. You can get free entry as a hotel guest into the Tangerine Club where you can watch the pirate show without having to get squashed in the crowds outside.

The Tangerine nightclub is good although quite small so gets very packed - not much room to dance. They have a live band with burlesque dancers which is enjoyable.

STAFF: The staff at the hotel all seemed pleasant though no exceptional service, some dealers are more chatty than others, but that was the same at al hotels we gambled in. At night they have security at the lift entrances who you have to show your room card to to get through, which makes you feel secure.

We both really enjoyed our stay here and if we ever get the chance to go to Las Vegas would definately stay at Treasure Island again.
