TK Maxx is a bit of an 'Aladdin's cave' really - you never know what you may find hidden amongst the vast amount of products within the store. Envisage 'department store meets jumble sale' & you might be getting the idea...
You see, TK Maxx stocks everything from ladieswear, meanswear, childrenswear, ... ...or a shelf, & bingo!...the TK Maxx appeal has been achieved.
It's one of those stores where you really have to get in amongst the stock, have a good rummage & you may well just come up with a gem. The downside is that you'll probably find something you absolutely love, but due to the low stock levels of each item they won't have it in your size, or the colour you want. You see, TK Maxx stocks everything from ladieswear, meanswear, childrenswear, accessories, & footwear, to pans, towels & other homewares. Throw in the seasonal items, such as Easter bunnies, gardening & Santa's, & you've pretty much got everything covered. Take one or a few of each product (mostly designer names/labels), throw it on a rack or a shelf, & bingo!...the TK Maxx appeal has been achieved.

The downside is that you'll probably find something you absolutely love, but due to the low stock levels of each item they won't have it in your size, or the colour you want. (And it's no good asking if they have any others in stock....they may or may not, but who knows since it's such a hit & miss shop?! Chances are there will be another one of the product SOMEWHERE in the store, but good luck finding it...).
TK Maxx originated in America (& can be found there under the name of TJ Maxx), & as such I find a lot of the products have obviously been shipped straight over from the States (& no doubt flogged to us at a dramatically increased price, even though that price seems cheap to us...). I've lived in the States & recognise a lot of the brand names (especially in the homewares), although 'American style' doesn't really appeal to me.
I buy something in this store at least every week or two. I have bought everything from clothes to shoes to vases to oven trays to colanders to toys...and the list goes on....! My latest buys have been a summer skirt (which doesn't actually fit yet, but hopefully will soon!) which was a bargain at £4.89 in the sale, & a Burberry summer dress for a mere £14.99! Happy days!
One point to remember re. the prices is that the current VAT reduction will be made at the till, making the price you see slightly less (VERY slightly less...what on earth is the point of this VAT reduction business...?!).
So, the point is - if you have a branch in your town & haven't visited yet...WHY NOT?!

Advantages: cheap if you like your labeled clothes, lots of choice Disadvantages: doesnt cater for size16+ or small children
TK Maxx life began in America over twenty years ago and now claims to be the biggest discount retailer in the world with shops in four countries. Their idea is simple: sell labeled clothes at huge discounted prices by taking the no thrills approach. They now have about 80 stores in the UK alone. TK Maxx sell a variety of womens, mens and childrens clothes and a small amount of household items and yes, they really are cheap. If you like your sports ... ...My overall opinion of TK Maxx then is that if you are slim and you love your labels, you really could save money. The downside is that there is no order and choas rules in this shop so you need to give yourself plenty of time and be patient!! ...

Advantages: Vinigrette ok Disadvantages: Everything else
...I ended eating in the TK Maxx cafe, especially as I wasn’t even shopping in the store! Today is match day in Cardiff, not a rugby match, which is normally frenetic, but a football match which though it’s not as busy as rugby days, it’s still pretty jammed. My father would’ve been quite happy to simply get a pasty and walk the streets, but my mother hadn’t wanted to wander about and the TK Maxx cafe was the closest thing that provided seats and wasn’t ... ...the basement, you feel enclosed and quite claustrophobic, you’re also surrounded by suitcases which makes you feel more hemmed in, as well as a metal barrier sounding the whole of the cafe area. Nice
Willing to put this aside to have something to eat, I went up with my father to order the food, which is mostly sandwiches, jacket potatoes, soups and pastries, most of the sandwiches being between £2 and £4, which is about average. While waiting in ...

Advantages: At the TK Maxx you can buy whatever you want as they virtually sell everthing, it can be your home away from home. Disadvantages: There are only a few around, however, more are being built.
TK Maxx not TK Maxxx, is flippin purely mathematically amazingly and you should R, E, S, P, E, C, T it.
If you're one cool isotope you will shop at TK Maxx because it has all the gear any "with’ it person" wants such as the clothes for extreme sports including brands like: -
Quiksilver,
Rusty,
The Realm,
Vans,
Gotcha,
Billabong,
O’Neil,
Rip Curl,
British Knights shoes,
Airwalk,
Animal,
Body glove,
Globe shoes,
Etc…
If ... ...thing is that each week TK Maxx gets a restock of 1000 items.
Throughout my shopping there, the best bargains I have seen are a pair of Rockport’s XCS Hydro-shield resistant for an amazing £30 RRP £150. I have bought a Quiksilver coat for £50 RRP £130. However, these are the best bargains I have come across there are many many more if you are prepared to spend around 2 hours there. The main bargains are that you can get past season products around ...

Advantages: Great quality brand names at great discounted prices Disadvantages: Can be a bit like a jumble sale
...city must have their own TK Maxx? A leading dealer in discount designer wear, TK Maxx plays out as jumble sale meets department store. There are ladies wear, mens wear, childrens wear, foot wear, bag wear, kids play, and housewares. They offer genuine designer and high street brands at genuine discounted prices. I recently bought a pair of pierre cardin jeans with an rrp of £59.99 for £14. And there was no damage or any other reason for getting them ... ...The one complaint about TK Maxx is that you struggle to find things. Although it is divided into menswear, womenswear etc, and also into types of clothes (ie t-shirts, shirts, trousers, jeans etc) and even gets it right in regards to seperating sizes, you would still struggle if you were looking for a specific brand or make. There is no guarantee that you'll find exactly what you're looking for. Its more a store to browse in than to go in to for ...

Advantages: Cheap quality stuff Disadvantages: Bit untidy
...price? You see, TK Maxx is one of those shops that claims to discount brand names and designer labels. And as they say, it does what it says on the tin, but only if you don't getting last years stuff. They generally sell last years designs, by all the top names, at about half of what you would've paid last for them. Sounds good? Well I dunnow about you, but I reckon it's a pretty good trade off, as firstly I don't have a clue when I see peoples clothes ... ...looking through the stuff in TK Maxx I can't see the difference between what they sell and what you'd buy anywhere else. Can't see the difference in the clothes, I should say, because there is a rather large difference in the layout of the store. In the one I went to anyway (Team Valley, Gateshead) it was more like a warehouse than a shop. Infact looking skywards you could've called the place an unused aircraft hanger. It was definitely more a warehouse ...

Advantages: Undercover, Central and a lot of shops Disadvantages: Not much
Monument Mall is quite pleasant and has a reasonable range of shops for its size.
It's directly linked to the Monument Metro station , which has a Bank of Scotland and Barclays cash machine. It also connects directly to Fenwicks departmentstore.
The basement is taken up by TKMaxx, Cafe 1860 and a Toni & Guys hairdresser. The mall boasts a three story Virgin, a two storey Newcastle United shop and a two story Evans. Also on the ground floor are a Boots, Body Shop , Gadget Shop , Card Shop and Phone shop.
The first floor has a First Sports and the top floor has various restaurants including , Pizza , Fish and Chips , Chinese, Baked potatoes and sandwiches.
Its a pleasant enough place to shop and is located in the centre of Newcastle. From here you can spend a smal fortune on none essential goods, and get something to eat. ...
Advantages: Everything under one roof Disadvantages: Car parking fee

with the usual high st shops ie Next, Dot perkins, Principles, M&S and BHs to name a few. This is going to change when they finally open the new Kingsgate shopping centre on the edge of town then the wonders of a proper departmentstore and A TKMaxx will be with us.
For a better retail therapy experience jump on the train to either Leeds or Manchester, or get on the M62 and head for the delights of the Trafford centre which takes about 45 minutes to get to. Word of warning if you do go to the Trafford center make sure that Man U are not playing a home or the journey time can be extended some what due to all the Essex boys coming up to see their home team!
Out side of the town centre there are the usual run of the mill retail parks with DIY superstores, PC world and the electrical warehouses all fighting to part you with your hard earnt cash ...
