Disadvantages:
Have to search through rails of clothes, Shop is a bit disorganised, Not very consistent (i . e . one day there will be good deals then there will be nothing much in) .
This is a department store which sells homeware e.g. pillows and ornaments, clothing, accessories e.g. belts and bags, shoes, fragrances, underwear and toys. The store that I will be talking about is the one in Southampton, but I believe all the stores are pretty similar.

***WHAT SORT OF DESIGNER ITEMS CAN I BUY?***
As I stated above, you can buy anything from a pillow to a pair of shoes. There are so many designer labels available that I cannot list them all, but the list below shows a few of them:

There doesn't seem to be any guarantee however as to what you will find. Sometimes I might find five or six Miss Sixty items, and other times I will not be able to find any.
Sometimes the items in store will be current season, sometimes they will not. However if you are looking for a designer item at a cut price then TK Maxx is the place to go.
***STORE DESIGN***
The store will be divided into different sections. In Southampton the homeware items can be found on the first floor. The second floor is where you find everything else: clothes, shoes, accessories, toys, underwear etc.
Put simply, the clothing sections are made up of continuous rails of clothes. There will be signs showing you where your size is located (however don't count on the accuracy of this...). There will be signs above the rails saying what is located on the rails e.g. mens jumpers.....womens sportswear etc.
The store is sometimes a little disorganised and it is quite time consuming going through all the rails. You may lose interest after a while. However there are often some good quality clothes to be found at reasonable prices. If you've got plenty of time and you like searching for bargains then you will enjoy shopping at TK Maxx.
***THE GOOD POINTS***
- Designer clothes at cheap prices.
- Can often find really cheap perfumes (often boxsets ideal for gifts).
- Can usually find labels that aren't available on the highstreet e.g. designer brands available from London shops.
- You have to search through lots of rails to find things. Sometimes these rails are really full so it is hard to search with ease.
- Clothes will often be in the wrong place. For example, I have often found clothes in the clearance rail that I liked (only to find they shouldn't have been there and they were not in the sale).
- Sometimes it is a matter of luck as to what you find. You have to buy something while it is there because they may only have a limited supply (and may only get an item in once).
- It is best to check the items in this shop before you buy them as I bought two items once only to discover when I got home that buttons were missing on both.

I have only ever found 1 thing in TK Maxx that I liked which was a dress I wore to my friends wedding. Ijust can't be bothered to search through all those disorganised rails!

its a bit difficult to find what you want, and you have to do some browsing - but i got some ben sherman jeans for a tenner, original price was 50 quid. not bad really.

Advantages: At the TK Maxx you can buy whatever you want as they virtually sell everthing, it can be your home away from home. Disadvantages: There are only a few around, however, more are being built.
