i have bought from tk maxx for several years now with mixed success from their clothing, homeware, accessories and other products. it is a store for those who enjoy hunting for their look and as such the retail therapy can be as good as it is bad.
the rails and aisles are far too cramped especially as i am usually with a wheelchair user. at such times as well as saturdays one would need therapy after visiting the store. i have had some great bargains there but you would need to be able to create the look yourself as its very hard to find a ready matched set even in one size never mind a range.
i have found recently that they have less of the current styles than before and more last season stock and the selling price is in my opinion maxxed on their side. the sales are usually very good half way through, better than most. the homewares have to be checked thoroughly as they often suffer from trolley clashes in the narrow aisles. bedding i find expensive though and you could certainly max out your credit card to get the look you want. it is a case of buyer beware and look before you leap.
the queues are a real bug bear. last week i stood for 20mins as the one cashier needed a code and the girl folding on customer services at lunchtime seemed unwilling to help. it doesnt help that few have much english on the tills and care less anyhow. its not a place for those who hate shopping and my toddler daughter screams when i so much put a foot in the place she is so horrified at the place.it is a scavengers paradise nonetheless.
as regards menswear that is a pretty mixed bunch too. i generally find that the sizing is one size smaller than the norm and that anything over xl is a miracle to find and a fortune. the sizes are generally more fiction than fact. i especially find the staff annoying as they have no idea what stock is coming in. seems poor trading practise, and they wouldnt even consider passing on details of potential markets up the line.. at my nearest store there are several gents interested in the 3xl market and they never have the stock , they must be making too much to care. beware of the words matching stock available as it is pointless looking for it as its unlikely to be there or if it is its in the wrong place. my advice is not to waste your time looking especially if its lingerie.
homewares are a better bet and i have found quite a few useful items there i would struggle to find elsewhere and reasonable prices for the quality.so as always enjoy it if you can and caveat emptor

Review of TK MAXX (Department Store)
Advantages: At the TK Maxx you can buy whatever you want as they virtually sell everthing, it can be your home away from home. Disadvantages: There are only a few around, however, more are being built.
