So every city must have their own TK Maxx? A leading dealer in discount designer wear, TK Maxx plays out as jumble sale meets department store. There are ladies wear, mens wear, childrens wear, foot wear, bag wear, kids play, and housewares. They offer genuine designer and high street brands at genuine discounted prices. I recently bought a pair of pierre cardin jeans with an rrp of £59.99 for £14. And there was no damage or any other reason for getting them cheaper. They also have a great housewares section if you're looking to buy bits and bobs for the house. You can get pots and pans, paintings, photo frames, lamps and modern ornaments to jot all over your place. Effectively its John Lewis at bargain basements prices (without the dull department store music and irritating shop assistants). And thats another perk. You dont get bombarded with "helpful" assistants who want to sell you a sofa, a dishwasher and a dead granny. Its strictly a walk in the door, do your shopping and leave quietly scenario.
For me, it offers everything I need if I choose to do my shopping there. If I need a suit for work, they are superb quality, from some of the best lines in fashion. If I need a new shirt or a pair of jeans, perfect again. Even if I need a pair of casual shoes or a pair to look smart in at work, then its perfect. The one complaint is that very occassionally sizes can be off. I have bought the occassional shirt, that when I've got home and put on, its been smaller than it should have been. But then I'm always in such a rush that I never bother to try things on, so maybe there's a lesson to be learned there.
Its not just great for yourself though. If you are shopping for a birthday or christmas present, it is very flexible. They have a section with dad-style gifts, although my dad wasn't very pleased with his golf set at christmas from the look on his face. That would require leaving the arm chair. Of course I could have gotten him the whisky canister instead, but I dont like to encourage him. But its also great in the kids department for both their clothes and their toys. All strategically and manipulatively placed together, my niece had a field day at christmas after I had went a bit mad in there. Had I gone anywhere else, such as The Disney Store, or Frasers, it would all have cost me twice the price. So I get more for my money and she gets more to play with. Easy access, nice on the pocket, and a pleasant easy shopping experience, its perfect for all walks of life.
The one complaint about TK Maxx is that you struggle to find things. Although it is divided into menswear, womenswear etc, and also into types of clothes (ie t-shirts, shirts, trousers, jeans etc) and even gets it right in regards to seperating sizes, you would still struggle if you were looking for a specific brand or make. There is no guarantee that you'll find exactly what you're looking for. Its more a store to browse in than to go in to for something specific that you might have in mind.
The stores are also accessibly placed in the main city centres throughout the country. I cant speak for any other city, but in Glasgow I know of 3 easy to access stores:
Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow City Centre Clydebank Retail Park, Clydebank The Fort Shopping Centre, Auchinlea

Advantages: At the TK Maxx you can buy whatever you want as they virtually sell everthing, it can be your home away from home. Disadvantages: There are only a few around, however, more are being built.
Advantages: Designer clothes at cheaper prices, Caters for men women and children, Sometimes get hold of cheap fragrances. Disadvantages: Have to search through rails of clothes, Shop is a bit disorganised, Not very consistent (i.e. one day there will be good deals then there will be nothing much in).
