This is truly the most amazing hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. Rated as a 5* it is true luxury. I have stayed here twice in the past 18months and would happily go again.
The rooms are large, well furnished, good air-con and the views from the balcony across to the beach are stunning. At night you can look across the Red Sea and see the shimmering lights from Saudi Arabia and Jordon.
The facilities were great, the food splendid, the biggest buffets I have ever seen and despite a slight dreaded tummy upset I still managed to gain weight from eating too much! Within the hotel the entertainment is varied and enjoyable, from belly dancers and childrens entertainers to beduin nights in the Grotto. The pool is awesome, pool side and beach waiter service, theres even a spa, jacuzzi, massage parlor, gym, tenniscourts... and thats before you venture into the water sports or outside of the hotel.
If you want nightlife then dont choose Taba, go to the busier Sharm-el-Shiek. But if you prefer a more relaxed holiday this is the place to go. There is still plenty to do in the evenings, the nearby little town has plenty of restaurants and a couple bars as well as a lovely new golf course if you like that kind of thing.
In addition, we went scuba diving, snorkelling, para gliding, safari jeep ride into the desert, quad biking, walking trip to coloured canyon (amazing), private beduin nights, water skiing and shopping in the market town of Dahab... so as you can see there is a wide variety of things to do and thats before you take a breather to sunbathe in the hammocks on the edge of the beach being waited on by the waiters.
My first trip was myself and a girl friend, the second trip was with another female friend and my two young children, so needless to say I found it perfectly safe for two young ladies alone, as well as with young children.
Highly Recommended... just be warned, you will want to go back again and again. Package holidays should all be like this.

Advantages: Guaranteed sunshine. The private beach is safe, clean and half empty and the staff are lovely. Disadvantages: The dreaded Pharoah's curse! I didn't meet anyone who had not suffered from a stomach upset.
