The reference to eat your heart out does not relate to the quality of the food because, being honest, I only stayed there on a bed and breakfast basis. It relates to all thye other 4 star hotels I have stayed in, particularly in the UK.
The hostel is absolutely fantastic. You cannot help but be impressed by its entrance hall which will match nost seen at this category of hotel but, go to the first floor to be amazed. It has a central piazza where, not only can you enjoy breakfast but sip an evening drink or two or just coffee if that is your preference, but every evening there is live music to enjoy ranging from quartet to opera. There are internal glazed lifts in operation to add to the feeling of luxury and the rooms are placed around the piazza area which extends upwards to the, whatever floor.
The rooms themselves are of a very high standard and the beds are an impressive 6 foot or so wide. The hotel goodies are a must for collectors. The breakfasts cater mainly for the american and japanese guests and are of a buffet variety. The food on offer is excellent and the choice semmingly endless. If you go to Beijing this is the hotel to insisit upon.
