...I had been to thekkady a few years back.It has one of the most beautiful lakes in southern India. The journey to Thekkady is very scenic and the lake itself is quiet and peaceful.The boat rides in the lake are fascinating with great photo oppurtunities.You will have fantastic oppurtunities to enjoy wildlife at close quarters at the same time in the safety of your boat. Watching the hordes of elephants on the shores eating or drinking or having a bath are all enjoyable and different. you will have a chance to see baby elephants being taken care of by other elephants and the way they play and feed in their natural wild environment is a chance of a lifetime.If you are planning a journey to southern India thekkady, kodaikanal and munnar are a must see....

...I stayed here recently and felt that it was the perfect end to a great but exhausting trip around India. I booked into the Tower but was upgraded to the Tiger Club in the Palace which was a nice treat. The Palace is stunning and you should just look up the staircase, even if you can't afford to stay there. The restaurants are heavenly, we went all out and ate at Zodiac Grill, it claims to be India's top restaurant and we concurred! The 'snake coffee' at the end of the evening was theatrical and the coffee tasted delicious. The rooms are cosy, remembering that this is a 100 year old building, the architecture and service make up for the room which I felt was on the smallish side.
