Get Ready To Blow

Advantages: Incredibly funny
Disadvantages: None really

In the war torn country of Turaqistan the end of war is met with a US branding exercise by conglomerate Tamerlane. Sent into organise the branding of a country is Brand Hauser (John Cusack). Helped by his aid Marsha Dillon (Joan Cusack) the two try to sell the country, its people, and its inventions to the world. Natalie Hegalhuzan (Marisa Tomei) is a journalist suspicious of the whole branding exercise, and clearly sees through Hauser's message, while he tries to win her heart as well as her trust. But things take an unexpected new twist when Yonica Babyyeah (Hilary Duff) arrives in town (the Turaqistan version of Britney Spears when she was popular for the right reasons), while trying to woo the singer something about her makes Hauser violently ill, often vomiting at thesound of her music. POWERFUL BALLADS SOME CLASSIC ROCK!!!

Advantages: Some great classic listening!
Disadvantages: Brings back sad memories!

Being a big fan of Rock Ballads, as soon as I heard this advertised I rushed out to buy, I even paid £15.99 at HMV for it, although I am sure you could buy cheaper elsewhere for instance play.com, Amazon.co.uk to name but a few, but I just couldn’t be bothered to shop around and I wanted to hear sooner rather than later. Power Ballads is a double CD compilation of 39 tracks by various artists. Ballads spanning over several decades (70’s, 80’s 90’s and 00’s) brought together on 2 fantastic CD’s by Virgin Music Group Ltd. Disc 1 information: Total play time 79.05 minutes Track 01 Hero, published by Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp BMI/Arm Your Dillo Publishing Inc (SOCAN) and produced by Chad Kroeger (2002), you may remember this song and video from Spiderman, fantastically performed by Chad ...

it was the city of Caliphs

Advantages: none at the moment
Disadvantages: many at the moment

of the Tigris river. Baghdad was surrounded by circular walls and for this reason it was known as the "round city". Between the 8th and the 12th centuries Baghdad became the centre of the Arab civilization. The tales told by Scheherezade (One thousand and one night) give us an idea of the court life under the Caliph Harun ar-Rashid. Also during the Middle Ages Baghdad played an import role in the development of the Islamic world. During 1258 the Mongolians invaded Iraq killing the last Caliph as well all the inhabitants of Baghdad. Also the city was razed to the ground. A similar situation happened in 1401 when the Tamerlane ransacked the city and slaughtered the population. During the Ottoman Empire, Iraq became a cushion between the Empire itself and the Shiite Iran. At the end of the first world war the League of the Nations (the ...
