We stayed at the HôtelRestaurant La Flambée in Bergerac in November 2008 for two nights and enjoyed breakfast and dinner. What follows is an honest account as possible about the hotel as I can provide. Hopefully this may help if you are planning to visit this part of the world.
We flew to Bordeaux but the most convenient airport for the hotel is actually in Bergerac as the hotel lies about 2 miles outside the town. Incase you are not familiar with this part of the world these places are in the main wine growing areas, and are in South West France. Flying time from the UK is about an hour and a half if you are flying from the London areas. Easyjet will take you to Bordeaux from Luton, likewise British Airways will fly you from Gatwick, and Ryanair will fly you from Stansted to Bergerac. In my opinion, hotel Kolumbs ir the best hotel in Liepaja!
I have spent a night at other Hotels there, but none of them had such a great service.
Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms and tasty breakfast! The guy and lady at check-in was always pleased to help us.
The price is adequate for 4* hotel :)
The Standard rooms aren't very spacious, but I did not find any problems with that as they are very comfortable and the design is well done too. The bathroom with either a shower or a bath is spacious enough and very comfortable to use. The comfort room I tried had a jacuzzi instead of a bath, but it also had a shower. The room itself was rather large and teh huge bed was very comfortable to sleep in. That room also had some very interesting design elements, as it was on teh corner of the building.

I recently stayed overnight at the chine hotel in Bournemouth whilst in the area for a friends wedding. It is currently rated as a three star hotel, but I cannot for the life of me see why as I found it to be of at least four star standard. There are 86 rooms, all of which incorporate an en suite bathroom and are decorated to a decent standard. All rooms include a hair dryer, trouser press, direct dial telephone, satellite television (selected channels only) and the complementary tray of tea, coffee and biscuits.
There are four types of rooms available in relation to the view they offer the guests. The basic room is an inland room, then there is a garden facing room and finally the sea views and sea views with balcony (the prices are slightly higher for these).
