Firstly...lets be under no illusions...ITS FOR THE KIDS! So if your planning a quiet holiday in the sun...NO NOISE..NO CROWDS... I suggest you look elsewhere! (Unless your taking your holiday out of season when I feel the hotel and its surroundings will be a little less hectic.) PINEDA and CALELLA. We stayed at Taurus Park for two weeks July 20th to August 3rd, a party of two adults and a child of 10 years. We have holidayed with Portland/Thomson many times but this place rates as one of the worst accommodations we have used. Our room was described as a twin accommodating 3 people when in fact it was a very small twin with an extra bed squashed in. It was therefore very cramped. The Hotel is far too small for the number of people it attempts to cater for and therefore at dinner time you can wait in a queue for up to 30 minutes just to get into the dining room and then wait in more queues ... more

Rooms: Small standard rooms, -very noisy walls and door not very tight - quite dirty not cleaned very well either, - cleaning maids disturb while still sleeping > no possibility to signal that room is still occupied due to lack of door knop sign (which is unbeliveable even for a 3 star hotel) - no key card they still have the 20 year old keys with big room number plate to carry around in you pocket very unhandy. Just had 2 excellent weeks at the golden taurus park. No complaints really at all. Food was very good at both breakfast and dinner. Drinks and snack prices were reasonable and the snack bar did excellent food. Entertainment could have been better but was ok, one small moan really, the beer in the main lounge wasnt good, watered down maybe?? Lovely beer int the snack bar and poolside bar. Rooms were tidy and spaceous, family of 4 and plenty of room for us all. The Taurus Park is a great family choice with non stop activities, two pools and two kids pools, its the perfect place for fun in the sun. This is great for children and thats good news for parents. The hotel is part of the Golden Hotel chain situated in the resort of Pineda Costa Brava Spain. Location The long sand and shingle beach is 100m away which is backed by a promenade dotted with palm trees and shelves rapidly into the sea. The centre of Pineda is 950 m away.
