Advantages: Only 3 and a half hours from Gatwick, Friendly locals, views you must see before you die Disadvantages: Airport is not the best
First of all let me explain the airport. Zante airport is notorious for being a nightmare, up until summer 2005 it was a very small terminal with one conveyor belt for 3 incoming flights worth of luggage in one go, and a departure lounge (if you can call it that) with no seats and a small kiosk that sells food and drink. In the summer of 2005 a new arrivals terminal was built. It has 3 conveyor belts now and the space around them is far larger. The luggage still takes quite a while to get off of the plane and onto the conveyor but you have space to walk around and go to the toilet. Up until September 2006 departures has not changed at all, it looks like it will happen, but knowing what the Greeks are like it will take some time! Don't let it put you off as the island is well worth seeing, when you are on your way home make sure you take ...

Advantages: Nightlife Disadvantages: bit expensive
I went here last summer we had the best time ever, I would recommend you hire out quad bikes for the whole week it will get you around a lot easier, You dont have to walk around all the time in the hot weather, The clubs were not massive the were average, The two largest ones were club zero and badboys, Zero had more of the dance and house music, were badboys had more rnb and hip hop,
The place is quite expensive, mainly during the day time, I remeber ordering KFC, i ordered a zinger tower meals, The lady then said $3.50, i gave her the money and she just gave me a burger, i was really shocked, but there are other local restaurant that do have great and reasonably priced food,
Nightlife is awsome, everyones partying till late and the strips is all lighted up and you can go to the clubs with your quad bikes. It set out very simply ...

Advantages: Beach Side Dining on Fresh Well Cooked Dishes. Disadvantages: Had to come home.
We have just returned from two very hot weeks in Thassos, we decided to go in June rather than May as Thassos is the most northernly of the Greek islands.
When we are away we usually try and go to a different Taverna for about the first 8 nights and then revisit our favourites for the remaining nights.
The first night we went to TWINS taverna in the town, which I will review later. Most of our following nights were spent at the SYRTAKI which alone speaks for itself.
At the East end of Thassos Town is the Old Port area, we feel this is the the better area to go in the evenings and in fact during the day.
Our first visit to Syrtaki was on our 2nd day, we had decided to go down and see what the Town Beach was like.
