This three stars Tempio Di Pallade Hotel is conveniently located in a characteristic building, made out of a recently renovated palace. For traditional Roman cuisine, the adjacent San Lorenzo quarter is a popular area offering an array of restaurants, pubs and pizzerias. Advantages: Close proximity of all the fabulous sights. Disadvantages: Beware pickpockets!
...I visited Rome back in May 2000 and it was fabulous. The hotel I stayed in was the Hotel Gioberti in Via Gioberti, near the train station. It was very conveniently located for the train and buses, and a walkable distance to the attractions - and what fabulous attractions there are!
The Trevi Fountain - fabulous. I could have spent hours just sitting looking at it!
The Colloseum - amazing - an extremely interesting tour from the guide gave many insights into Roman life.
The Portuguese Church - near the Piazza di Novona - fabulous! The best one we saw, only small but just beautiful, and we were the only ones in there so it was our favourite spot.

...If you do love the city of Rome and you wish you go back, the best place to make this wish is at the Fonana di Trevi-remember the song " Three coins in a fountain". Legends says that by throwing a coin over your left shoulder into the fountain guarantees a return to this beautiful city. Throwing three coins mean you will get love, luck and be able to return to Rome!!. I threw three down the fountain the last time I was there - really hope this comes true. The Hollywood movies "Three coins in a fountain" and "Roman holiday" were filmed here-that's why this place is so well-known. The fountain is huge with places to sit aroud it. However, it's difficult to squeeze in as it's always packed with people, a very busy place indeed....

Advantages: Amazing architecture Disadvantages: Not being able to speak Italian
...had no bbars or restaurants around us, just the hotel bar and a pizza takeaway round the corner, so you can imagine what we di every night, not much!!
The next day we decided to get the bus to Rome and asked the hotel manager for directions this in when we realised how far away we was, we had to catch a bus which was a twenty minute ride to the train station and then had to catch the train into Rome. The only advantage of this was the price it cost about 4 Euros for a ticket which you could use on all transport all day.
It was worth the wait because Rome is a beautiful place.
The rest of the story is just sight seeing which i you have visited Rome you know how beautiful it is the buldings are amazing, if you havent visited Rome I would recommend you go but make sure when you book it you know your hotel is central because the travelling took...

We bought this before a recent weekend away in Rome (ok, I confess, we went to watch the rugby!) As we thought it would be nice to know a little about what we were looking at and where we were.
I spent the delay at the airport and the flight checking... more
