Wat Arun, Temple of the Dawn, is one of the best known landmarks and one of the most published images of Bangkok. It is open every day from 8.30am to 5.30pm. Because of its location, its easier to get there by river than by any other means.

I have heard lots of times that Wat Arun does not deserve mention when talking about the best place in Bangkok. But I have personally loved its sight. Its called by some as the "china plate temple" . The silhouette is an awesome sight when you travel on the river and I always get the feeling that the temple is different in subtle ways than the other temples here. The best views and photos of Wat Arun are in the evening with the sun setting behind it.
