If you're ever in Bangkok, this place is an absolute must, it will only cost you about 60 baht (you get about 70 baht to the pound) to get in and you could walk around here for ages. The main attraction, the reclining Buddha is housed in it's own temple, the temple itself is the oldest and largest temple in Bangkok and is over 300 years old. The buddha housed inside was put in the temple just under 200 years ago, it stands about 15 meters high and is over 40 meters long.
The buddha is covered in gold plating and should you wish you can buy a small piece of gold leaf which you can add to the buddha yourself for luck. The soles of the buddah's feet are black marble inlaid with mother of pearl and are absolutely beautiful, and if you feel like you need a bit more luck you can buy one baht pieces which you then offer to the buddha by placing one coin in each of the small pots along it's length.

Make sure you take a top to cover your shoulders if you are going into any temple in Thailand, you will also have to remove your shoes but don't forget your camera if you go here.

The Wat Pho (Temple) is on all the small tourist guide maps you can buy and you can either get there by taxi or tuk tuk. If you only do it once a trip on a tuk tuk is a must, even if it is more expensive than a normal metered taxi. There are buses but they can get a little confusing if you're not 100% sure you know where you're going.

The Thais are very friendly people and will do anything to help you, just be a little careful about asking for directions as the Thais are very proud and do not like admitting that they do not know the answer to your question, the would rather point you in the wrong direction than lose face by admitting they don;t know. Having said that, this only happened to me once in my 8 months in Thailand and I was going in the right general direction:-).
