A Fun Day Out in Tenerife!
Advantages: Good fun, suitable for all Disadvantages: Expensive food and drink
At the Lido there are 7 main pools each in the shape of one of the Canary Islands. The pools are salt water and the water comes from the nearby sea. The Lido also has lots of sunbeds if you are planning to get a tan, and some expensive bars to buy food and drink! The pools vary in size but I only went in 2 of them. The water is quite salty as it is seawater and is also very cold when you first get in – so cold I was reluctant to get in! The first ... ...the great thing about the Lido is the variety of pools so everyone can have fun and enjoy themselves. There were deep pools and shallow ones, children’s pools with little structures in them or nearby like a red octopus on the land which little children could climb through and you could see from quite far away! If swimming is not your thing you can relax on one of the sunbeds (which are free with adult tickets) On one side of the Lido there is a bit ...

Visit the Orchid Garden!
Advantages: Nice to visit, pretty, shady Disadvantages: Quite small
...* * * * * Orchid Garden Review * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Recently I visited Tenerife for almost two weeks and this is another review of somewhere I visited. Another Tenerife review I have written is on Loro Parque and is quite a good review in my opinion! Anyway today I am going to review the Orchid Gardens. While in Tenerife recently I visited the Orchid Gardens in Puerto de la Cruz. The garden was just up the road from the hotel I ... ...walk to from there! The orchid garden is a really interesting place to visit but it seemed to be very quiet –although apparently it is busier in the winter! This is a shame as the gardens are a really nice place just to be in and relax and should be enjoyed by more people and I wish that more people knew about them which is part of the reason for me writing this positive review. The garden has a bit of a history to it and various famous people have ...

** Who You Calling A Tramp? **
Advantages: Variety of music, easily accesible, cheap drinks. Disadvantages: most popular club so very busy. gets a bit hectic at times.
...is Tramps? **
Tramps is one of the biggest nightclubs in Tenerife and after being around for nearly a decade it definitely is on the Tenerife wall of fame and has labelled itself 'King Of Clubs'. Whether you see if for yourself or hear about it though the grapevine, people always seem to rate this place as the number one hot spot for revellers to Tenerife. It has no entrance fee on regular nights but this seemed to be the same throughout the ... ...other bars shut around 4am Tramps becomes the place to be at about 3am if you can stay awake that long! Plus with a holding space of up to 2000 they'll never turn you away unless you're crawling on your hands and knees! ** Where is it? **
I stayed in Playa De Las Americas which hosts an array of clubs, bars and restaurants and when talking about the place it definitely seems to be the liveliest resort in Tenerife. Being 23 with the world at ...

Moist Mercedes
Advantages: a lot to see Disadvantages: I didn't find any.
...the island including the capital Santa Cruz. I booked it with the rep of our travel organisation, the actual tour operators are always local firms. It doesn’t make sense if I give you the name of the firm we went with as you can’t choose one, you have to take the one your travel organisation works with. I guess they’re all more or less alike and a tour’s success depends on the guide you get. Our first stop was the auditorium in Santa Cruz (built ... ...the little I saw of Santa Cruz rather pleasant, our guide called the city with more than 220,000 inhabitants, the economic and industrial centre of the Canary Islands, “cosy and not at all aggressive“, I‘d like to believe he‘s right, pity that none of the big cruise ships was lying in the harbour while we were there.
It’s not possible to get to the water in the city proper, in the south is an oil refinery, then comes the harbour for freighters and ...

Moist Mercedes
Advantages: a lot to see Disadvantages: none
...up twisting roads into the Anaga Mountains, they remind me of the centre of Sardinia, the craggy mountains, the bushes and cacti typical for the Mediterranean macchia. When we came to a fork we moved down again, our next destination was the village Taganana on the north coast, accessible only by one road or by boat. The inhabitants used to be either fishermen or workers on the sugar cane plantations which the Spaniards had introduced, now they live ... ...bushes are enormous in the Anaga Mountains, try to imagine heather 3m high! We had reached the Mercedes Forest (after the village Las Mercedes nearby), we were in the so-called Laura Silva, the Laurel Forest, which once, many millions of years ago, covered the whole of the European continent. When the climate became colder it receded to the Canary islands - just like tourists do nowadays!
We were lucky not to find the Mercedes Forest moist which ...
