Great Family Destination
Advantages: Lots to do and good weather Disadvantages: Las Americas can be noisy
I first travelled to Tenerife just after 2000. Me and my hubby stayed just outside Playa de Las Americas. Being 9 years younger and in my early twenties staying in Tenerife's most lively resort didn't put me off. Now, however in my thirties it is a whole other ball game. Following our first visit we went the year after and stayed in Adeje which is just down the road. It suited us perfectly and we have visited a number of times since.I will only review ... ...~Tenerife the Island~
Tenerife is a Spanish island and one of the largest of the 7 (yes 7, I didn't know there were that many either) Canary Islands and is just off the coast of Africa. It has about 5 million tourists visit the island every year and is getting more popular with each year that passes. Santa Cruz is the capital of the Island. Tenerife is a volcanic island with Mount Teide being the highest mountain in all of Spain. Tiede is also ...

Crass Cross
Advantages: picturesque town Disadvantages: very steep streets
...day out, the town of Icod de los Vinos is an option. It’s 20 km to the west but doesn’t have direct access to the sea like Puerto de la Cruz. It’s located at an altitude of 235 metres on a long smooth slope of the volcano Teide (the highest mountain of Spain) and stretches from the fringe of the forests down to the sea. The Playa (beach) de San Marco the locals frequent has the black sand characteristic of northern Tenerife, it’s about 3km away from ... ...From the bus station in Icod (which has clean loos, a fact I find worth mentioning) a walk of 200m up a steep street takes you to the town centre. Icod is definitely not a place for the handicapped, nearly all streets are steep, very steep. I can’t imagine even a wheelchair with an engine going up and down there. Big letters on the wall on the left side of the street advertise the Mariposario del Drago, the Butterfly Zoo, which one passes when going ...

Aqua park tenerife
Advantages: great day out for the family if you love water slides Disadvantages: can be expensive if you eat in.
I have a timeshare in Tenerife in lovely resort called Island Village. The resort has 5 levels and we have a place in level 1. This villa is near the main shop on the resort and also right near the main swimming pool and restaurant. Our villa is situated opposite a place called aqua park. At aqua park there is the opportunity to watch a dolphin show and the change to have your pictures taken with the dolphins. You can not get in the water with them ... ...become ill. This costs around 50euro.
In order to get this sone you have to pay an entrance fee of around 20 euro and then pay for the pictures. This gives you a free pass for the following day (or a day of your choice) to return to the park. Along with the dolphin show there is water slides and a lazy river. All of these activities are included in the price. The one thing i would advise is that if you are going as a family a cheap day would be ...

Tenerife Catamaran
Advantages: hot sunshine, sea life Disadvantages: can get too hot if there is no breeze
I have been going to Tenerife for the last 5 years and every year it is not complete without a trip on the catamaran. Going out to see and seeing all the lovely whales and dolphins in their natural habitat is amazing. They look so free and happy that it makes the whole trip a pleasure.Put that together with the free food, drink and the beating hot sunshine this is definately a trip to take. They also have sun cream experts on board who do actually ... ...really bad heat rash which was turning into water blisters all over his chest. This lady gave him some cream that would help this go down, protect him from the sun and also still let him get tanned. The products were definately worth the amount we paid for them.
The trip costs around 40 euros each and you have the choice of going on a 3hour trip or a 5 hour trip. I went in May this year and can not remember if the trip goes from Porto Colon in Las ...

Whilst on holiday in Tenerife this summer 2007, our tour representative did a reasonable job on her sales pitch by convincing me to book another of her excursions. Not only had I just booked a Catamaran cruise for an afternoon but I had now also paid my euros to spend an evening ... ...Object of the Evening***
Castillo San Miguel covers approximately 6,000 square metres and is constructed of Canarian stone, towering more than 16 metres high. The Castillo San Miguel is home to the "Count Don Rodrigo" and this daughter the "Countess" who are played by actors naturally. The idea of the night is that both of them are here to enjoy an evening of fun and games (no frivolity) performed by their own colour coded knights. These tourists' ...
