Teotihuacan is breathtaking, as soon as you walk onto the sight, you are overawed by the size of the pyramids. It is worth getting a guide to explain everything to you as the site is so huge, and there is a lot of interesting history and explanations about the site (good descriptions in the review above). ...you bring lots of water! Inside, it can be difficult to get food too. The site is huge, so don't underestimate the amount of time you'll need, and try to avoid the hottest times of the day, between 12pm and 2pm. Taking children could be difficult, due to the heat and amount of time it takes to climb the pyramids.
