...! If you go by coach it will arrived to Rio Gallegos and from there to Ushuaia via Chile and you’ll need to cross in a ferry the “estrecho de Magellan’s”. By plane from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia. Alternatively, from a regional flight from Rio Gallegos, Lago Argentino (el Calafate) and Comodoro Rivadavia. It is more expensive but it worth it. Where to stay? You have a wide option, hotels, aparts, B&B, campings… the prices go from $200 at hotels (argentine pesos that are about 78 pounds per room per night, although there special promotions each season) or B&B are about $40 (25 pounds a night per room). Camping are about 5 or 7 pounds the night depending on how many nights you are willing to stay. Great things to do! Advantages: Stunning scenery

...Trekked around the Torres Del Paine National park as part of "Trek Patagonia" a charity trek organised by Mencap. I had always wanted to visit Chile and was able to combine raising over £3,000 for Mencap with seeing one of the most beautiful areas of Southern Chile. The park is a few hours drive from Punta Arenas which is one of the last stops before polar expeditions and the local wildlife includes penguins.The park is well organised with several camp areas and provision huts. We had local trek leaders with each group and all fitness levels were catered for. The trek to the 3 peaks was hampered by cloud, but the best part for me was a trek to the Grey Glacier. Advantages: It was amazing

...At the age of eighteen I had just finished my first term at university in Liverpool, England and was looking for a fresh challenge for the summer. I had travelled since an early age and love new adventures, so I started investigating the possibility of working abroad. When I looked at all the different options one that appealed was going to the USA and becoming a camp counsellor. I thought the placement would offer me a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and travel whilst integrating into a new and exciting society.
